Creative Memories

How do I find out if anyone in my area sells Creative Memories products? If I understand correctly, it's done similarly to Home Interiors or Pampered Chef, in that a representative does a show in someone's home. Is that right? Anyway, I'd like to know how to purchase these products.

You can send them an email (see below) and hopefully they'll contact you. Either that or maybe you can post messages on several different scrapbooking website buletin boards looking for one in your area. I do see a lot of them posting on various boards that are out there.

Good luck!

By the way, yes, it's similar to Pampered Chef. The difference is that your guests go home with 1 completed page. They pay a fee (it's a class, not a home demonstration) and for that fee they will learn how to preserve photos, how to lay out a page, and will get a pair of scissors. Any supplies used that night are to keep as well. Of course most people get hooked (at least I did!) and buy stuff there, earning you credit towards free product for yourself (I've seriously considered becoming a consultant so I have a pretty good idea of how things work). But anyway, that's the scoop. :)

Yeah if you click on the link to online info (or what ever it says) they will e-mail you back with the name and phone number of the closest consultant to you

That's a good tip, Izzy, but actually it was the narrow setting that I started out on! I was about to give up, then I tried the wider setting and it worked fine. Maybe I will just have to always make wide ovals. :) Joelle, I got mine at Wal-Mart for $17.96. I have heard that they have them at Michael's, and they are probably available at most places that sell Fiskars products. The blades are not the same ones that are used in the Fiskars circle cutter. At Wal-mart here, the replacement blades are $3.96 and come two in a package.

Creative Memories - sales??

I know what you mean about sales. Do you have a CM consultant you regularly buy from? If so, does she keep a card (I think it's called Memory Savers card or something), where she tallies all your purchases? When you buy $250 from a CM consultant, you get $25 off your next purchase. That's like saving 10% off everything you buy. Except that you have to wait to see the savings. But I think this is a good deal. There are a couple of scrapbook shops near me that offer purchase savings cards too, but both of them offer 10% after $200 in purchases. That's only 5%. So in the long run, CM is a better deal. Also, my CM consultant (my sis too!) offers a Workshop card, that when you attend 6 workshops, your next one is free. Ask your CM consultant about these offers. Kelly

The way it works here in NH (I've been to several different CMC's [Creative Memories Consultant] workshops and classes) is a class is $10. At the class you learn about preserving your pages and how to get started. You leave with 1 completed page, of which the CMC has provided the page, stickers, and paper, (you're told ahead of time to bring 6-8 photos with you) and a pair of scissors. If the hostess, not the CMC, decides to provide snacks and beverages, that's her call. Workshops, which take place at teh CMC's house, are $5 and she includes snacks and beverages. Any supplies you use you purchase. Crops, which are usually long sessions, are $10 at the CMC's house and include snacks, beverages, a "crop talk" where she discusses new ideas (sort of like a mini-class), and prize raffles. Ours here last 6 hours. One other little feature my regular CMC offers (I no longer go to different ones - just the same one all the time now) is that after 5 workshops (the $5), the next one is free. Also, after you spend $250, you get a $25 gift certificate. So basically, if you're invited to crop, it most likely is like the 6 hour one I described above. If it's a class (also $10), then it wont be as long. I really like going to the crops for the ideas that I get from others. I also look forward to getting out of the house without a 2 year old on my hip!! :) Patti

When I wanted a CM contact here in Tamworth I emailed the CM site, based in U.S. They obviously emailed a Sydney person who emailed me with the phone number of the Tamworth CM Consultant. I'm a teacher and her 6 year old daughter is in the next classroom! Talk about a small world! In a nutshell, yes, contacting CM via their site does work!
