Hi Todd! Just by reading your post I was tempted to say it must be alocasia 'cucullata', but after viewing a close-up it is definitely alocasia 'California'. Glad you like it, 'cause it pups very easily and, as you alluded to, is fairly drought tolerant, esp. for an "elephant ear". Guess I'll have to bring you a 'cucullata' this spring, huh?! (Sorry, but my new policy is not to comment on rainfall. I no longer pretend to be happy when other people receive it and I don't. LOL! It only makes me bitter - sorry, make that MORE bitter. Oh you lucky duck. I was the recipient of Terri's Tayberry Jam and boy do I wish I had more. It is fantastic. Enjoy -- but eat it slowly. You'll be sad when it is gone. I have a "Made by Terri" apron, too! I use it all the time. The handiwork on it is lovely. How thoughtful that Terri made one for MacKenzie, too. And a summer dress! I think I remember seeing her dresses on Chance, too. What a lovely and thoughtful swap box. Ann matched up two very special people.

Dottie, you are very welcome. In fact I'll be making it soon.. I have the desire to have a cream and strawberry filled cake! Fresh barely sweetened whip cream, sliced fresh picked strawberries sandwiched between to 8" cake layers with more on top! OMG!
