What a great question. I have been working on my easter layout. I got some really great shots. I found some nice easter sticker to compliment them. I am still adding to the pages. I am new to all of this and I find myself really getting wrapped up in it.

Dear Betty, I'm afraid to warn you that this craft is REALLY addicting! LOL I have been working on a halloween clown layout of my son, he was wearing a funky colored wig, and clown suit, so I made a clown paper doll to match his clothes and mounted it on dot paper, cute. Love Penny

1. A little 1BR brownstone overlooking the Mississippi River in St Paul -- my then-partner and I had to find a place quickly, so we didn't look at a lot of places; I stumbled upon it in a Craigslist ad. I toured the place on an autumn afternoon; it was filled with golden hour light and I instantly fell under its spell. The light was delicious and inviting. West-facing windows, with the river in view. Wood floors, kitchen built-ins. The kitchen sink was quite large but exceptionally splashy, somehow. There was zero counter space, but we opened up our dining room table (which squeezed into the kitchenette extension) and used that for prep. The whole place was maybe 650' square. 700?. The maintenance lady didn't know (she was the face of the landlord, who operates out of NY). The bedroom closet was atrociously small and awkward, but we had a big walk-in hall closet and basement storage. I loved the view and the light. One of the two cats lived almost permanently in a living room window. We had a pull-out couch in the living room for a young family member to visit, and it worked perfectly (though I later had a tough time getting rid of that couch--so heavy! It sadly ended up in a dumpster bc no one wanted to buy it and no places took those couches as donation). We even hosted a Christmas (desserts and apps only) that was amazingly fun (6 adults, 2 cats, and 1 doted-upon little boy)... It's still one of my favorite memories of adult holiday gatherings. Parking was terribly limited in the area. We ended up buying a parking spot on site for $70/month, Total rent... with parking was $925 or $950, i think. A lot for us at the time (just a couple years ago... 2013-ish). We were in our early 30s... two masters students scrounging a living and trying to put our lives together... and lived there about a year and a half. I enjoyed it! I loved that warm ombré rug! It was sold after I left the apartment after this. that radiator in the window had a marble(?) cover over it that created a great kitty window perch. Though the kitchen was tiny, I made some great meals (when there was time). to be continued with the next place...

I have a couple that are under rated. One is Medallion. I got my original in a body bag from KMart years ago. Of course at that time, I did not know that roses needed 6 to 8 hours of sunlight and that they should be on the East side getting morning sun. So what did I do, I planted him at my office on the west side of the building. I built a little retaining wall right up next to the building over part of the black asphalt parking and filled it with dirt.... yes a bad idea, but he doesn't seem to know it. He doesn't get sun til about 2 and when he gets it, he has to deal with the heat and reflection of afternoon sun off a white building. He is a TROOPER and puts out beautiful large blooms. Doesn't get black spot. Though I guess, I just learned he will never get to be a queen because he will never have a high center, but he will always have my heart for those huge buds and flowers..... my 2nd under rated would go to Regatta, because I have friends who shovel pruned theirs, but mine is putting out bloom after bloom..... The only thing about her is I wish I would have put her in a different spot, because she gets BIG and she has thorns.... lots of thorns, and she is right by a doorway.

What else can I say, you all are blessed! All the roses mentioned are barely blooming for me. Just been too hot. My climate stinks. Spring lasted for one week, followed by a 16F late freeze which killed everything to the ground except for the hardiest stuff (Kordesii blood) and then 95F to 100F weather came right after that along with midges. Then the Japanese beetles. I've had no roses this year from over 200 bushes. My Peppermint Pop is certainly not blooming at all, just barely hanging onto dear life. The only bloomer now is Carefree Beauty. Quadra which normally blooms a lot just had a spring flush and literally quit growing. It seems to be resuming now. Julia Child is not blooming either. Terrible season!

Strawchicago the scent of Firecrack is just like Lyda.... I think someone told me is musk.... but if you were blindfolded you would not be able to tell the difference of it and Lyda. That is why I am sure it is one of her seedlings.... that and Too Ugly who just got through putting out a great show, but I forgot to take pictures. Rosecanadian.... Firecracker smells just like Lyda rose and is just as strong. This time there seems to be a single stripe in the picture.... but normally not striped. Maybe it is weather. Normally this rose will change colors as the blooms open... I brought these two beauties in to share with my daughter who is home for one her friends father's funeral. I have told her about my creations and just wanted to share them with her.... I will allow the other buds to open on the bush and see if they still go through their progression of dark pink, to light pink and yellow

I have been working on the scrapbook i am making my brother for graduation. There are about 10 pages to do in a week, I'm getting alittle anxious about finishing. I've been working on a snowmobiling page since my brother really enjoys spending time riding his snowmobile. I am also doing a page of snapshots of our extended family for this book. I can't wait to finish this album so i can concentrate on my own!

I am working on pages of my daughters surgery. It has been fun because I found cute stickers of a kid on crutches, a doctor, etc. I will try to take new pictures of her recoverey, second cast, and then her rehab. Oh, by the way, I don't actually have photos of the surgery just after the surgery.

I'm on an obsessed mission right now to finish up my 2000 albums...almost done! Now I am working on what will probably be an 8 page spread, of a day at the pumpkin patch. Some pages are barnyard babies pics (Marissa holding the chicks, bunnies, etc) some picking pumpkins, some pages riding the tractor, and some in the sunflower maze! To tie everything together I coordinated the paper, will use some raffia bows for some texture, and some adorable paper piecings I downloaded from Two Peas In a Bucket!! I downloaded a CUTE barn, a cow, and a chick!

I am starting the fall layout with a favorite poem of mine two page spread 'Gold' from Robert Frost. > I want this layout to come out so well, (it has a lot of personal significance to me)...I'm afraid to start!! I have sketches, and everything but I can't start..I'm so afraid it won't come out perfect! Ever get that feeling?
anyway, its ready to get started, hopefully, tomorrow!

Great thread, Penny. I'm creating an album for my Parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary in October. I've just finished their wedding section - I'm going all over the place as I get inspired! I'm happy with the wedding - I used MAMBI heritage stickers, lilac vellum and Mrs Grossman Paper Whispers lace stickers as well as cardstock. I journalled Mum and Dad's memories of the day (separately) - on another page I got the wedding party to do the same.
This album is a lot of work but so much fun.
A tip - my siblings are providing their own photos of their family (dh's, dd's, ds's etc) so that is one responsibility I don't have!LOL!
