Doing anything special for National Scrapbook Day?

Does everyone know there is a "National Scrapbook Day"? Is anyone doing anything fun for this? Would love to hear from others on this one.

A CM rep out here has rented out a convention center for the day. They're having raffles, all day open scrap and lunch. Sounds interesting, I'll probably go for half day just to be part of it. "Your pictures are worth 2000 words..." is the theme; centering around journaling. I'll let you know the details afterwards. (I'm looking to pick up some more supplies while I'm there!! cause you can never have enough LOL) Hilary

I'm going to stay with my friend in Georgia who is a CM consultant (I live in Florida). Funny thing is that I introduced her to scrapbooking and now she's the consultant. Anyway, it's a good excuse to get away for the weekend - no children, no husband, just scrapbooking (sounds like heaven right now). :)

On her birthday I was going to make a cake for Jan, basically because I wanted to play around at decorating a cake, but she shot that idea down saying it wasn't on her diet... Well diet be damned, I am gonna make her a valentines cake complete with red roses on it, and if she don't like it, I guess I will have to eat it to,,,,but I am going to make it anyway.

We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day. I don't care for the overly sentimental cards and it's hard to enjoy roses or other flowers if you know they've jacked the price up. We didn't even celebrate it when we were newlyweds. But...my DH's car died and after calculating the cost of repair combined with the 150,000 miles on it we opted to buy a new car. So yesterday we decided to take a nice drive into the country and made reservations at a great little pub, restaurant and brewery. It was thoroughly enjoyable and neither of us mentioned the 'Valentine' word.

Well I was planning on going to a all day scrap by a CM Consultant . I went a few months ago to one and it was great! Anyway, I graduated from college friday night and it was late when I got to bed and I over slept saturday morning and to make a long story short....I slept in then my sister came over and we went to yard sales. It was fun! But to tell you the truth I would of rather been scrapping! I hope everyone had a great time scrappin and bargain shopping! Take care and happy scrappin to ya all!

I have to work Fri and Sat, so even if I wanted to attend a crop in Chattanooga, (through the traffic from hell LOL), I would have to go Sunday, and I am not sure if there are any stores having anything Sunday or not. :( I am getting to the point now where opening my own store just to have someone to crop with is not sounding that crazy anymore. LOL Penny

My CM consultant is having a crop from 9-3 with raffles and stuff but my neice (who also happens to be my godchild) is making her First Communion so I have to go to that instead. SEcretly, I'm bummed. But I guess I can't complain since it's a pretty big day for a little girl and she only does it once.

I want all the details of what everyone did when I get back! :)

Oh, by the way Pam, it's May 6th and a lot of scrapbooking stores are having big sales and stuff. Worth looking into!

I live in a rural area and one of the banks is letting us use the lower level to celebrate 'Scrapbooking Day'. We are all going to wear purple--the color of year 2000. They are expecting quite a few. They will have games, prizes, lunch, snacks, etc. It is 9 to 5. All of us are looking forward to it. It will be my first. I started scrapbooking in October. Got my daughters and nine year old g'daughter hooked, too.

Well I will be attending a CM scrappin session from 9-5. She is providing lunch, door prizes, raffles, etc....the good thing is I can work on my books with out my 3 year old bugging me ..wanting to use mommies stickers! I hope everyone has a great time! I plan on taking pictures!!!! I am totally addicted!!!!! LOL!!!!

This year it is a week early where I live, as the venue the CMCs used last year was booked for May 6. We have a scrap from 9-5 with lunch and snacks included, prizes, give-aways, a scavenger hunt and guest speakers. Went last year, it is soooooo much fun.

I have a wedding to go to that day two hours away so I'm not doing anything. Too bad it wasn't a on a weekday and national holiday so everyone could get off work and scrap all day! :)

Hey, I accidentally found this board but I wanted to let you know that if you are in or around the Knox, TN area there will be 2 crops for National Scrapbook Day. One is Friday night at Scrapbooks and More and the other is all day Saturday 10am-10pm at Works of Heart. If you need directions/phone for either let me know.

Has anyone heard of any big plans in the Columbus, Ohio area? One store is having a sale from 0600 to midnight...I finally get to shop after I get off work! (0730 am!)
