I am also doing panels for myt refrigerator, dishwasher. I went with a mixture of polished nickel and glass knobs. I did amerock bin pulls and the matching appliance pulls for dishwasher and refrig. I did glass knobs on my glass front cabs and ice box latches on my lower doors and doors above refrig. I think the important thing is for the finish to match. I ordered samples of several knobs, pulls and latches that I liked and then looked at them together to see which looked the most cohesive. Some finishes just don't match even though technically the same. Some of the polished nickel was darker than others. I think you can mix and match but check to see the tones are the same first. I originally was going with all knobs because I saw Sarah Richardson comment once that it's much easier to change out knobs than pulls when you're looking to update your kitchen. Then, I went to the store and picked knobs to check out. I didn't like them at all with my cabinets for some reason. So, back to the drawing board. I ended up going with all the same size pulls, all placed in the middle of the door or drawer, all horizontal....just for consistency. None of my drawers are so large compared with the smallest drawer that having the same sizes made a difference, if that makes sense. I did use glass knobs on the glass front doors, but that was it. Anyway, my advice is to go to a big box store, buy a bunch of difference sizes, styles and finishes, and put them up to see what speaks to you. It may not be what you originally thought you want it to be. Even after I decided against all knobs, I thought I'd use a bunch of different ones and didn't go that route, either. These knob questions must seem silly to everyone, but after all the design work (I'm my own KD) and everything THAT involved, I find myself stumped on this simple piece of the puzzle. Fortunately my cabinet maker just informed me he can provide "sample sets". He has apparently proved 15 of them to another customer whose kitchen was finished 2 months ago and she still can't make up her mind! I feel better. I'm down to 3, maybe 4 sets. :) (I think...) The metal question I asked earlier still isn't resolved. I'll just get several kinds now that I know this. What I was really wondering with this question was about putting handles on the small drawers and cup pulls on the large drawers (same stack)? Or if it would look better to put knobs on the small drawers and cup pulls on the large ones? Or just 2 knobs on the large drawers and keep everything uniform? I like the uniform (all knob) pictures, but I like some of the pretty pulls in the sets too! :) (This is not going to be resolved soon, don't pay any attention to me!) But Thanks for answering!

For me the first consideration would be what hardware I had in the kitchen and rest of the house. I would try to match the laundry room fittings to that in terms of finish and style. It gives a house a feeling of serenity. The length of the bars is partly a stylist thing - 10” bars (which would indeed look good) are a distinctly contemporary statement. If you laundry room is sitting in a remodeled 1950s house, or if your kitchen was built in 1980 they would maybe feel like a bit of a mismatch. If it’s new construction I kind of think almost everything goes. ...well not Victorian.
