It'll be fine. Our kitchen has all different handles, and no one notices, including us. As Weissman said, most of us on this forum mix brands in order to get "best in show". It's better to find the best appliance than to find an appliance that you may not like, except that it has a matching handle. Many of us mix finishes in addition to the handles. I've seen some showstopping kitchens on the Kitchens Forum, where there might be white range with a stainless hood, or black fridge with stainless range, etc. And, as you've discovered, handles can be different even within the same brand. Sometimes when I see new-construction home or condo, with a matching suite of appliances, all I think is "hmm, developer must have gotten a deal on a bulk purchase of appliances". I think the kitchens with different appliances look like someone has put thought into their choices. By the way, which stainless fridge has black handles? I haven't seen that. Can you provide a name and model?

i had this situation in my old kitchen. i had oak cabinets and painted them a creamy white and went with ORB knobs. I also had brassy gold hinges to start with. Rather than paint them, I replaced them with the same hinge but in a cream finish. I wanted the hinges to less visible, but as others have stated, didn't want the chinzty painted hinge look. The cream ones I purchased were very inexpensive. You can see from the pictures that they don't completely disappear but to me, I liked it better than having ORB hinges which I think I wouldn't have liked. This is contrary to what the others are saying above... certainly it could go either way. here is a pic before and after:

jellytoast - I'm glad to hear you like your dishwasher. I like your suggestion of ordering a flush dishwasher but really like the Pro Line. It's pretty :-) KA doesn't seem to offer a flush lip for the trash compactor anymore. I just called the store and the appliance salesman suggested getting the "panel ready" trash compactor instead of stainless, so we can have a panel made to match the cabinets (which will be painted off-white) and won't need to use an appliance handle. I like the idea but DH thinks a light painted cabinet face is not a good choice for a trash compactor, with kids in the house. I don't know if it would be a problem. We don't usually get food on the front of the trash compactor now (just fingerprints) and it would still be cleanable. lynn2006 - thank you for posting the links! nini - you have my dream kitchen. It's gorgeous! Definitely going in my inspiration file for my eventual major remodel. I didn't even notice that the handles were different in the pictures until I went back to check. If both of you like the look and function of the Pro Line handles, can you get replacement handles for your appliances through KitchenAid? The specs on the Architect and Pro Line appliances I'm looking at are the same, so I'm thinking the handle is the only difference.

Thanks for your help. I think the way to go is NOT use the cabinet handles but to find an appliance version of the handles similar to my cabinet handles. This would be a cleaner look. The manufacture handles are large and stainless steel and would look odd with the rest of the kitchen and would defeat the purpose of an integrated Panel Ready fridge. Thanks everyone
