Help! Where are all the appliance handles?
Comments (9)Hi, I had the same problem but due to budget. I have a Subzero all refrigerator and a Subzero all freezer 600 series both with Kraftmaid cabinet panels. I looked everywhere for large and long pulls but the price was $300 + and that was completely out of the question per door. I went on Ebay and looked at antique door pulls and found two matching antique brass door pulls for $65.00 for the pair. They are about 12" long but meaty and I love them. My husband thought they wouldn't work but they have been on a year now and really look great. I have Amrock cabinet handles that were $8.00 at Expo I found on a website called D. Lawless Hardware for $3.25 each big savings as I needed 50 for my kitchen. If I could figure out how to post a picture I would post it. Good Luck...See MoreAppliance Handles match Cabinet Handles?
Comments (3)Have you tried the 1/2 or full moustache cup pulls against your distressed island? They seem to mix well with many of the contemporary styles of appliance pulls. Can you post a photo of what you do like on your perimeter? I'm mixing 3 different types of hardware as I want a bit of furniture look and none of them match the appliance handles, but they all have the similar brushed finish in common with the appliance handles....See MoreDo your appliances match?
Comments (12)All stainless, but every single one a diff brand: Samsung CD FD fridge Electrolux Icon dbl ovens Sharp m/w Bosch d/w Bertazonni cooktop Summit undercounter icemaker (haven't chosen hood yet, but loved my Zephyr hood in last kitchen) There is no one manufacturer that makes everything I value most in each appliance. As I spend more time in the kitchen than any other room in the house, it's important to me that I LOVE using each appliance. I tried to pay attention to complementary hardware/handles, but that can eventually drive you to distraction - causing you to stray from what it was that you loved about a particular appliance in the first place. I'm living in my mother's newly-built home while I build my new house, and I'm coming to hate the fact that everything has "KitchenAid" on it. Especially when I'm not impressed by the performance of the oven/mw wall combo. (Not to mention that she has wall-to-wall upper cabinets, most of which will stay empty. Such a waste of space, and even a little clausterphobic *sp?*! I had two uppers last time in a fairly large kitchen, and will likely do the same this time.)...See MoreDo your appliances need to be the same brand to match?
Comments (9)Mine have always been different manufacturers, and my parents' as well. I think the only times in real life I've seen identical manufacturers across the board in a kitchen have been in builder-grade or spec builds. Some companies make better DWs, some make better fridges, and so on. I rather have the best in my price range for each appliance. Since I live alone (though I do entertain), I know I can always wash dishes by hand. Hence for that, my needs were low end, but a brand and model with a good reliability record. I microwave seldom, so a basic counter top model was fine for me. I was/am a lot more picky about the fridge, which I wanted ergonomic for my needs. And especially about my range! I did have to compromise on color - my induction range is black AND SS, whereas the other appliances are black. But it goes with my coffee maker, and the SodaStream, which will remain out in the beverage station - black with SS trim. I do remember watching a HouseHunter's episode, whilst waiting my turn at a walk-in clinic, with the wife of the couple kvetching about the fact that the appliances were from different companies. Obviously no clue that quality and function should come first (and perhaps she never cooked, anyway). But she was pretty whiney about everything else, too....See Morejune970
