Scanning Driver's License

Does anybody know what my district is doing this for besides 'The safety of the children?"

You can't even get an e-mail address for the school board president, but every parent, sibling, and visitor's sensitive information will be SCANNED.

I feel parents have the right to know where and to whom this information is going. Is it be cross-referenced with

an FBI list or what? And, why won't they tell us?

Anybody have any enlightenment on this? Thanks in advance!

That is hard to believe. I would refuse until they clarify the reason. I guess after the school shootings they feel they have to do something. But unless they run the DL number to find out who knows what, it is a open field for identify theft. I would ask the local law enforcement for help, or even your local FBI office. Sounds like someone wants to be a big shot. If they give you static, contact your local invesagative reporter. Or make you show the regulations in writing and who made them and why they have to have that infomation.

Do they want your driver's license or the student's? I'm not following you on that. Ihave heard that some schools require this when students are drive their cars to school and leaving the car in the student parking lot on school grounds but I can't imagine why they'd need your license. That makes no sense to me. Not everyone has a license. I'd be making calls for sure.

Yeah - one evening we were having dinner at a little diner down the road. Seated next to me at the counter was a nicely dressed gentleman who asked me if I would read the menu to him, as he was blind. Obviously, I did, and helped him through his dinner as needed. He started complaining when the waitress was slow in bringing him his food - he had to be sure and leave before the sun went down because he had a hard time driving in the dark....... Guess if we want to be safe, our defensive driving skills need to always be extra sharp!

Here is some information I got from a colleague of mine. As far as using a borrowed disc: "The only problem may be that if the installed system has had a Service Pack added to it, the disk will need to be the same or there'll be no Repair option, just reinstallation. In other words, if the system is at SP3 level, a WIN2000 SP2 disk won't work". There have been 4 service packs, so it's more than possible! Windows key: will you need it? "As far as keys is concerned, it depends. Sometimes yes. sometimes no. I think it depends on which Service Pack has been installed and whether the key data is accessible when doing the repair". It surely gives you a lot more freedom, Nicole ... you'll need it, with the little ones. Can Claude get to work by transit, leaving the van at home during that time, or do you have to drive him and pick him up, on a day that you may want to use it? I've been surprised, over the years, at how many, mainly females, can't drive. My mechanic's wife Chris was a teen in a congregation where I ministered, 40 years ago. Her Mom, who lived on a farm several miles from the village and the city, had never learned to drive. A while after her Dad died, a few years ago, I said that I thought that I'd go visit her mother and get her out on the road to learn to drive. She warned me to not ... as her aunt had made a similar suggestion, to be told to mind her own business, if they were to remain friends. ole joyful P.S. I just stumbled over a rock ... that's so large that it's a wonder that it didn't hit me in the face ... ... remembering my recent dilemma over the need to re-confirm my driver's licence ... ... maybe I'd better consult with Chris' Mom ... ... as to how to manage to live in the country ... when one can't drive! Driver license / passport renewal?

I renewed my passport during CV without issue, and it was returned faster than I expected. DD1 did after me, and hers was also returned in a timely manner. I skipped the Star ID this time around since I did the passport and passport card, but did have to go to the DMV to renew my DL since we moved 2yrs ago. I could not renew it online. That took an hour (June). btw, there are several passport photo apps you can take photos at home and send to Walgreens (I used their passport photo app) to pick up. Smooth WHITE background is required It's easy to take yourself. I'm about to do again for a new Veteran's ID card. I used a white poster board for the background and held it against the wall with my shoulders.

After a massive letter writing campaign to school board members, PTA members, school district police ....am still hearing "your information is secured in our database." Do they have any idea that the average junior high student can figure out how to hack their 'secure' mickey - mouse databases?

Perhaps it's time to involve the media..
