Maybe this will help Ipad users post photos right side up?

I saw another post this AM with a photo upside down, and although I don't have an iPad, I Googled how to have them appear right side up, if anyone would like to experiment with this.

Link below with much more info, but the answer was - "The quick answer: The 'correct' way to take a photo is with the home button on the Right. For portrait photos the camera should be at the top."

"If you receive a photo and it is upside down then I recommend Fotosizer. A free program that not only flips your photos but re-sizes them as well."

I also want to thank you. Im going to try.
It worked. So us lefties need to use the ipad like a right handed person when taking photos.

Hello Friends ~ Well..I guess I would be considered an 'oldie' and I too remember the days of Spike! I believe it is beneficial for a member, any member, to occasionally remind everyone of the rules (and 'yes' they are the rules of Garden Web) to keep some semblance of order! If a member is unsure of where to post a topic, just ask! We are all here to help and learn from one another. Also, if you notice your post has been moved from one side of the board to the other, do not take offence rather look upon it as a favor from a fellow Junker! While I do not want to revisit previous situations, I believe that Wired's post regarding two members needs to be clarified. I cannot address the member 'Brenda' as I do not remember her nor that situation but I do recall the member named 'Connie' and too insinuate that members were "Jealous" and "Ran her off" is to misstate the situation. Connie did indeed have some great Junk and was a creative person as Wired states but she began posting pictures of her interior design skills, which would have been appropriate on the Conversations side of the board but she insisted on posting them on the Discussions side. The more members tried to help her understand this error and ask her to move her postings, the nastier she and the situation became! Unfortunately, it culminated in her leaving on less then favorable terms. I come here, not as often as I would like to as of late, to learn from other members creativity and experience. I believe both sides of our board have merit. I'm happy for all of you. But fixing whatever was messing you up, seems to have broken my ability to upload photos from my computer (Windows 7). I haven't been able post a photo since August 26! Cleaning out the cache made no difference. I click on the post photo button and go to the folder with the picture. But when I click on the photo....nothing. If I copy and paste it into the post, it shows up on the pre-submit. However, the post won't go through because then it claims I have too many characters. Frustrating!

Can you find a metallic ceramic tile that isn't a solid brown? Something with a little brighter bronziness in the glaze? Your counter does read as solid brown so I don't think you want a solid brown back splash. This is kind of going in the direction of your rustic style in your bedroom. But then your structural elements are contemporary, your cabinets and trim are traditional.... You added wainscoting recently.... Do you know what I'm thinking..... ;)

I have a similar problem and even correcting the orientation using Windows Photo Gallery, the photos continue to show up sideways when sent in email or posted here or any other website. Zep, I checked out the link and it does not offer any help. I frankly think it is either some glitch between PC's and Apple or intentional by Apple. You can make all the corrections you want on the PC and the photos are still sideways. What I do now is upload my photos from my Iphone or Ipad to Photobucket and make the corrections there. I then copy the photo and paste them to my computer. Its ridiculous to have to go through all those steps but I haven't found a way around the problem. Jane

YAY! I'm so happy! When I see a sideways or upside down one that I really want to check out. I save it to my photos and flip it.

Seeing that sweet face just above is a great 'thank-you'!

Thanks, this is very helpful to know. Ah, but will I remember?

I'm a rightie but because of how I fold my cover and prop it up, I always have my home button on the left.

Pretend it is a real camera. All the ones I have ever owned had the shutter button on the right side of the camera.

Chipa, the problem with the ipad is if you "flip" and the camera is in the bottom right hand corner,which is the "wrong" position, the "shutter button" "flips" to the right. So it doesn't matter where the camera eye is the shutter button is always on the right.

Bully, not what I meant ... pretend the shutter button is the iPad home button ... always keep that on your right for landscape and on the bottom for portrait.

problems with pictures

It seems I'm not the only one with picture issues. Any suggestions, besides not posting a picture, on what else to try? Adding the picture to something like photobucket and not posting directly from my iPad?

HH are you using an Ipad? Seems that's the problem for most, either viewing or posting. Good to have that thread linked here, too. I don't have an ipad and won't ever, so I'm not going to try to problem solve it, but just linking to what others have posted.

I guess I (who will also never have an iPad) would suggest to load them to Photobucket. That's a way to ensure that you post them right side up!

That info that I posted is all over the 'net, and I've linked it in another post that I just found, with the same advice. Not having the device, all I can do is read about it.

Just read this is one of the MANY links I found on the subject, where one user says -
'I use photoshop express to rotate them. This BUG is fixed in iOS 5.'

Hmmm, since the pictures are right side up on my ipad I would have to turn them upside down in photobucket I guess. Maybe I'll have to play with it a little in the test forum. I'm not being belligerent when I write I probably just won't post pictures. I hardly ever did anyway, I can't even remembered my photo bucket password! Oh well, I'll figure it out if I ever have a picture I just have to share.

In the thread about the Anderson door, both her pictures are right side up on my iPad. I think I'll check how they look on my laptop. Not that it matters, I don't have any advice for her, I'm just curious since I'm thinking about pictures.
