You are very welcome NHB and thank you too. The ad did very well. I always make my ads extra special and have never had anything take longer than a day to sell. I did mention in the typed part of the ad that the photos shown were taken at the specialty shop we'd purchased them from. I also mentioned I was doing this for my daughter and that she'd take new photos and close ups for anyone interested. We got four emails with in a couple hours. One of them I'd gotten an auto reply email that said she'd be away for two weeks vacation that arrived almost the same time I hit send on reply to her first email. The second lady was so excited about it we just knew the sofa was meant to be hers. We even have plans to meet up for lunch the next time I visit our daughter in California. Oh and she sent me photos of the sofa in "her" new home too. Wasn't that sweet? I love doing this type of ad and only wish I could do it for a living it's so much fun. I could play with Windows Paint program all day long. And actually....I have!

Seems not just my post, but the other one about the WTs, sided with the hubbies' opinions! les: No it's not the final arrangement, though it's how it's arranged at the moment. Did you ever see the other option I had been considering for the piano wall? Majority feedback was for squirrel's version, though it still feels like I have an empty corner on the right and the drum table is floating between living room and entry. I wish I had a second floor to photograph from to give the pics more perspective. In any case, it will evolve as I fill it out a bit more with the rug, coffee table, art, lamps, etc. ezbake: Glad to hear I'm not alone in liking the piece, but seems we're the minority at this point so I'm hesitant to move forward.

"Maybe CL is having a undesirable effect on our local charities." I do think CL has cut down on donations. With a free ad a seller has nothing to loose if it does not sell. I swear I have seen things in Goodwill that I had seen running for weeks on CL. It looks like only after something has not attracted a buyer on CL it gets donated. Both CL and eBay has had an effect also by broadening the market field. An eBay ad can reach many more people than an ad in the local paper or on a bulletin board at the laundromat ensuring a better chance of sale. I feel that people are just not as materialistic these days and are less likely to succumb to pressure to throw out (AKA donate) perfectly good items just because the color is out of style, or there is a new and improved version released in the stores. The Goodwill stores in my area look rather bare lately. I don't know if it is due to people not donating things and hanging onto items, or due to more people opting to buy secondhand than new. I also notice, (since I have been a regular shopper there for decades) that it is more crowded with shoppers than ever before. ----------- That looks like a big tear (to me) in the close-up photo of the couch leg. It also looks like another tear on the right side below the cushion in the long shot photo. No Goodwill would accept that to sell.

The first ones have a tight back and are rather large - does she have room for two 91" couches in her space? The second set has the loose pillows for a back, which I personally hate. You constantly have to adjust them to sit comfortably, and they always look messy once someone has been sitting there. Of the two, I guess I would do the first. I would of course want to see how comfy they are, but also check to be sure they are in top condition structurally. Because they have been shlepped around for use in model homes, they may not have been treated all that well in the process.
