need adhesive/hanging plates solution

I have some large shallow colored glass bowls about 18" across, that I want to hang on a 2 story dining room wall as decoration. They all have a relatively flat area on bottom.

If those TV ads about an adhesive that can hold up a brick are true, would that be the best method. Will it work? Does it possibly dry clear? Is there a better solution?

I'm thinking I should adhere them to a square of plywood actually, to avoid damaging the wall and make them removable. Then what? Use picture wire and hooks on the back of the plywood? Thanks in advance.
