Comments (5)I hung a large plate by using duct tape. Let's see if I can describe this before my first cup of coffee: Cut a strip of duct tape the length of the flat part of the back of the plate + 2 inches. Cut a small 1 inch rectangle of cardboard and place it on the tape about two inches down from the top edge. Turn about 2 inches of the tape over the cardboard and secure it on to itself. Use a hole puncher to put a hole through the doubled tape and cardboard reinforcement. Place the tape on the plate and hang it from the hole. It's been up about 4 years now without a problem....See MoreHanging Plates?
Comments (6)I'm a hopeless plate collector so have several walls of plate rails as well as a 4 plate iron hanger, several single iron wall holders, and many wire/spring types. Some of my plates have holes thru which wire can be looped. I also use the tabletop plate holders. I have to rotate plates or my fetish would be too apparent!...See MoreHanging decorative plate?
Comments (6)Nicole, I have plates that large on my walls. You probably need to go to an antique shop where they sell the larger spring clamps. I could not find them at Lowe's, Wal-Mart, etc., but I did find them at an antique shop. I hope you find one. I know it will be a lovely addition to your home....See MoreBest way to hang art plates?
Comments (7)UGH I completely forgot, walkin...I'm so sorry...will get on it posthaste. I keep hoping that maybe you'll do a family visit up here and can spare a little time for your g'web friend :) Good to hear that the plastic-covered brass protectors are the ones to use. I really should photograph them, they're so inordinately cool -- not sure whether they'll come across as fabulous as they are in a photo, though...(the painting didn't either, nothing ever does, so I probably shouldn't worry, but this is such a respected audience)...See MoreRelated Professionals
