Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 HELP!!!

I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 3-28-09, Looked pretty simple to use as described on the box, but lo and behold when you open the package the instruction booklet is of very little help. Looking for someone with experience with this product for advice. I am disappointed, had no idea I would have to sign up with Adobe for a year @ $49.95 to find out how to edit Photos, please help!!

I have Photoshop Elements 2, and it has a great HELP menu - I do not think you have to sign up for anything.

Pam, You can try going to your system partition, drive 'C:', and look in 'Program Files'. Open the 'Adobe' folder, there should be one, and see if there is a folder for 'Photoshop Elements'. If so open that and hover your pointer over the '.exe' file(s), don't click to execute the file. When you hover the pointer over the file(s) you should get a small pop-up window with the file information in it such as 'Description', 'Company', 'File version', 'Size', etc. Hope that helps you out. Doesn't Windows 7 have some kind of "run in previous version" compatibility mode??? Generally speaking, once you open the software box, you own the software. Some stores may make an exception but I wouldn't count on it. It seems that Adobe as a free trial of Photoshop Elements 10. Here is a link that might be useful: PS Elements Trial

Don't bother with the paper manual, google for online sites (free). And look at Amazon for good books, I love PS Elements, it has a short learning curve.
