Hi All, It was snowing on my way home from work today: ( Spring really in at a stand still. I think we are going to jump straight into summer, lol. Laura, I had to work on Easter. I kept joking that we were scheduled to work because management decided we were the heathens. I did have a nice Good Friday though. I went to the Broadway Market with my sister-in-law and her kids. It is an old Polish tradition to go there for foods like homemade candy and baked goods, see the easter bunny, buy Polish pottery and so on. It was packed as it always is pre-Easter. It is is a strange place because the whole neighborhood is now a ghetto, but the Broadway Market is still there. I could hardly carry out all the stuff I bought! I did buy two pretty Easter planters for my relatives that were in the hospital and I stopped to see them on the way home. Maryanne, I sure hope your testing went good. I've never had to do that for a job. Though this one I did have to do a drug test. Beth, Glad to hear most of the flowers survived. The winter aconites you sent me are still blooming! They are very cheery looking. They multiply don't they? Susan, I'm glad you are getting your family into shape. I know how it is. I'm afraid to leave Gary home alone for more than 2 days, lol. I'm sure hoping your brother will be ok. My cousin had to have her brain operated on for tumors about 2 years ago now, and she is doing good, so it is possible : ) Susann, I've not bought from them. I made my egg mold, or I guess I should call it a form, with aluminum foil. I crumpled up a sheet of it tightly into an ovoid(? egg) shape, then covered it with scrap clay, and baked it. When I made my first egg box, I covered the mold with thin sheets of clay, cutting darts to fit, and smoothing. When I had it covered, I wrapped a cord around it, pressing very lightly to make a neat pattern to follow, then cut along that line with my tissue blade. I baked that, then while it was still hot from the oven I ran my Xacto knife along the line I cut before baking it, and gently wiggled the two halves apart. The first one worked great! I lined the halves with gold pearl, made a lip to hold the lid in place, made then attached the legs, and baked it again. After the second baking, I added another thin layer of my original pearl to the outside, not only to make a smooth seam between the gold rim, but also to strengthen the join between the bottom of the egg and the legs. I baked it again. Finally, I added the ribbon, leaves, rosebud and rose, and baked it one last time. I was a little worried that I might be baking it too much, too many times, BUT because I used a white background on my egg, I didn't want to chance 'staining it' in the process of adding the decorations. I've taken more pictures (which aren't too bad, IMHO, compared to my earlier ones LOL) and will post them ion the gallery. I have some close ups, open eggs, and closed eggs, so you'll have an idea of what I'm talking about. Oh yes, the little books that are in the first photo's? I have more of those, too, and you can find them in the Paper Arts gallery. I'm addicted to them, I tell ya'!

Karen, You certainly are the early Easter bird this year. I love your stacking plates and you chose perfect items to use on them. Good idea to glue some of your little items together. Hopefully if Brat Cat does decide to check your plates out he'll check those first and think it's all glued. LOL I love your egg tree and bunnies from Michael's. And of course your F&F bunny basket. And do NOT think you are hogging any posts! We love all of your pics. Very inspiring to me to get busy around here. I haven't even gotten my Easter out of storage yet and like Luvs, have no idea of what I have to use on my stacking plates either. To be honest, my stacking plates still have St Paddy's on them. I should be ashamed! Yachter, I have decided that all stores sell different things. Everytime someone has posted a pic of something I've liked and where they bought it I've gone searching, but much of the time without luck. For years I had a very bad cat and a very spoiled Mini Peke and "I" lived in "their" house. I would give anything to have them both with me now though. I now have 1 lab and he is the biggest baby I've ever had. He is very gentle and laid back so the only thing I can't do is put any stuffed animals within his reach as he will get them and take them to his bed with his other babies.

Stacey, I saw them too, just this weekend. I was at the local Evil Empire, visiting the WalMartians. Well, actually, I was getting Dad's prescriptions filled, he uses Walmart over my protests. Anyway, they had little sugar eggs, I think 97 cents each, piped with different colors and with little bunnies, chicks, ducks, etc. inside. Yeah, I know, but it took them a freakin' hour and a half to fill that blasted prescription. I shoulda gone out for coffee! Annie
