Ok, so I don't quite know how to post pictures...I guess that's the first thing I need to learn here if anyone can guide me. (I'm a fast learner, I promise!) ;)

Mpmg46, welcome! I'm not competent to advise you re posting pics, but if you do a search with the terms "post pics" the instructions will probably come up.

Also, although I haven't clicked over to your pics (I'm on dial-up, alas), maybe you could be more specific re your questions? Is there something in particular you'd like help with? The people here are a wonderful source of guidance, as you know, but they need some guidance from you as to where to direct their eyes. Good luck!

I think you've done a wonderful job! I love the paint colors you've selected, the window treatments and rods, and the dining chairs look great. Do you think chair pads would look good on them, as well--to coordinate with the new valance? And maybe a bit more wall art in the dining room, so that one nice painting doesn't look so lonely? Maybe a few more pieces on either side? I'm not very good at detail help, so I'll let les and the other more expert folks here give you feedback on those things.

But about photobucket: Just click on the pic you want to post, then click on the third option for posting (to the right of the page), and paste it onto your forum posting. Easy-peasy. :)

Chair pads are a good idea. Does anyone here use them who has small children (3 & 6)? Does it mean more time cleaning?

I'm trying to figure out what I can do with that one large wall. I love the picture. Maybe sconces? I'll take a picture later of "the wall" and post if for suggestions.

We did the morning room, adjoining kitchen & family room all Macademia. I love the color. Everyone teased me for taking sooooo long to find a "tan" color that I loved. But now a few friends have decided to go a similar route and have discovered that there is more to it than just tan/beige.

I think your grandmother's table looks fine. The first thing I that came to my mind was a larger oversized picture over it would make more of a statement and make it more interesting. JMHO

I really like the window treatment in the morning room and the black furniture is wonderful in there also.

When you're done with that little black desk may I have it?

I love your grandmother's library table. Try putting two pictures over it, like single florals, clear some of the clutter off and maybe put a live plant on it, too.

Chair pads could be a check to coordinate with your valance or a solid if you don't like contrasting fabric. Just make sure they are a material that you can spot clean.

morning, mpmg-- I am late to the post but I think your room looks great! I really like your grandmother's table and I think it adds to the room. Love your colors with the black chairs/table and your lovely flowers!

I agree with the others that some more artwork on the walls would be good... and I think the print you already have hanging does a lot to bring the room together.

Keep up the good work! BTW.. are you also in central PA? You suggested Boscov's to me in another post so I thought maybe you were in this area also. (If so-- it's a gorgeous day today, isn't it?)

Wow--thanks again, everyone. I guess sometimes I just wonder if I'm doing things right. You know, you get used to seeing the same thing day after day, so you just get used to it, even if it's hideous! I do love having a morning room. It was the ONE thing that my husband insisted on when we built the house, and I'm so thankful now that we did!

funkyart: the flowers on the table are fresh cut from my garden...I've been working on a perennial/cutting garden for a few years now and it's finally paying off!!

We're actually in WV, on the border of MD, but most of my family is from PA, so we know Boscovs. It is gorgeous...we're on our way to the pool as soon as I'm off the computer!

parma42: I like the idea of putting 2 pictures there. That would fill the space more. I'll have to be on the lookout for a good deal (which I love to do!!).

daisyadair: thank you! The window treatments are actually from Lowes. They are single straight valances, but I pinned them together and added the little pull up part in the middle. It was one really straight long line when we first hung them, so I'm happy they turned out. The desk I found at Home Goods, and it was 20% off b/c it had a little scratch on it (which I fixed easily with a black permanent pen). I'll hand the desk over any day to you, if the bills stacked on it can go with it!! :)

bodica: Thank you. So you saw my next room we are working on too!! The color is SW Pennywise. I fell in love the picture that is hanging in there, and worked the room around it. I did the first floor bathroom in SW Spicy Hue (which is one shade darker) as well. Once the house is clean, I'll post more pictures. Oh, and I should give my DH credit for the crown molding/chair rail and picture frames on the lower half of the dining room. He just finished them a few weeks ago. :)

Welcome! I like your room too! It looks very homey and that desk you bought is just awesome. It shows perfect right where you've placed it in your room. Is it new or an antique? I just love it! I also like your wall color and the new curtains. They work really well together.
I do have a couple suggestions which are totally a matter of taste. If I kept the candlesticks I would change them out for wood or ceramic. The silver just seems to formal. Then I would get a shorter but wider vase for flowers so you could see the people at the table.
I always love seeing things that are unique to someone's family like this remembrance of your grandmother. It's a shame to hide it with to many items on top of it. So I think I would move the plant (and are those plants in the white cups?) from your grandmother's table. I would leave that great clock and your pictures on it but to much distracts from how pretty the table itself is.
Anyway, like I said, suggestions reflect only my taste.... and I'm no decorator!!! lol

Those white blinds are pretty blinding. Any chance you can swap them for wood or bamboo?

kats-The desk was a find from home goods. You are right about the candle sticks. They are normally not on this table, but my kids wanted a candle lit dinner recently...so they've been there since! When I'd taken these pics, I hadn't intended on putting them on here, so the clutter is gone now...the plants were all there so that my husband would remember to water them while I was away with the kids!

ideefixe: I think they just show up really white & blinding in the picture. In real life, they are not so noticeable. They are pulled up much of the time, while the kids play outside, so I can cook and still see them. I have darker wood blinds in the adjoining family room, which I love, but for a morning room, I like the light coming in, hence the white. I'm big on privacy, so I have to have blinds. Thanks for the suggestion however.

Welcome! I think you are doing great. It all looks lovely. I checked out your dining room too. In fact I got a peak at the exterior too since you were adding them as I was looking through your album.

here is the large wall so you can see what I'm working with in the room. The peaked ceiling and the wall on the left make it somewhat challenging (well, for me anyhow!!) to figure out what would work best.

Could I leave the picture, but add sconces maybe? Would that fill in the space? I guess I just can't quite picture what to do.

Oh, and the chairs are not always over there...they fit at the table, I just move them to keep the kids separated at meals a bit more! The "she kicked me" doesn't work as well when they are farther apart. :)
