Advice on modern kitchen layout, counters, etc.

Hi - first, please see the link below, which contains drawings of our kitchen plans. Sorry, I couldn't figure out how to turn them into HTML and directly post.

Questions: our induction cooktop (only a 30 inch, although the drawing shows a 36 inch) is on a peninsula. The cooktop will only be about 5 inches from the corner, where the peninsula meets the main counter run. Is this just too close for comfort? My choice is to lose the open stainless shelves at the end of the peninsula and move the cooktop further to the right and to the centre of the peninsula.

Second question: countertops. I am planning on SS on the sink run, white Silestone or Caesarstone on the long wall run. What do you think for the peninsula countertop? Continue the Silestone? That long window run is 14 feet long, will extending the Silestone to the peninsula just be too much?
