Has anyone else gotten a secuity alert when attemting a post on this web site? I tried to answer a couple of post and each time I received an alert that advised me against using the web site and their security certifiacte had expired. Jayne

Wow this is weird, I only see this post when I first log onto the forum. Once I have read a post I don't see this post anymore.

I never pay attention to most of the spam mail. I have my filter on so that only e-mail from approved senders go in my regular mail, the rest goes into a different folder. I scan the subject titles/senders to see if anything (confirmation from on-line shopping, mail from this forum, etc) went there. Everything else gets deleted, unopened, unread. If theres anything that looks "important", like bank notices or sites claiming suspicious activity in my accounts, etc., it's usually a scam and also gets deleted. I alway figure that if there's anything really important from my bank, etc., they will call me or notify me by mail. DH (a computer networking guy) says you can always tell by misspelled words or weird wording... example from above: "i have being paid" "in your office or home determine where you wish we meet" things like that are a dead give-away that it's a scam. Also....NEVER go to a site from THEIR link (such as the banking one like above) and give any info. I keep getting ones from paypal saying my account will be suspended due to suspicious activity. I don't even have a paypal account. LOL I went to the Paypal site directly and reported the scam. There's just so many cons out there, it's ridiculous. wanda

Go here and click the 'Run ESET Online Scanner' button on the left side then follow along. This is Eset who have been in the security business for years and have a good reputation. The scan might take from one to 2 hours to complete. If you are denied access to the program due to the bad guys on your computer come back and someone will advise a different route to clean your computer.

That .etl didn't show up when I did a search. When I downloaded MSE earlier, it asked if I wanted to replace the file, I said yes. So a little while ago, I downloaded it again and had it sent to my desktop. Uninstalled the old, reinstalled the new one, then restarted. That alert didn't show up, but everything else seem to be running slow. I never had any of the other freebies installed on my computer except CA that came free from cable company. It still shows in add/remove but nothing's there. I used something you guys told me to use to remove the program in the first place before installing MSE. I hope this has taken care of my problem. Will let you know if it comes back next time I restart. Shirley For what it's worth, just in the time it took me to type this, my pc speeded back up to normal.

I got the message too and now I'm getting hit by spammers originating from Garden Web. I hope they fix it fast!

This may have to do with the hardware update they are doing. I'm not getting any spammers, but I'm so sorry if some of you are.....bummer....

I have been getting the message that firefox.exe has encountered a problem and will close.
I only have this problem on the Garden Web sites. I am using IE to be able to read and post here.

I get the message that heir server certificate has expired. I hope they attend tothis. My msgs are:

- The certificate for "auth.gardenweb.com" expired Dec 22 23:59:59 2007 GMT. The webmaster should update the certificate(s).

- The certificate for "te.ivillage.com" is signed by the unknown Certificate Authority "Trusted Secure Certificate Authority". It is not possible to verify that this is a valid certificate
