True Blood: What If Sookie Stackhouse Just Moved Away?
More Security, Familiar Elements and Updated Decor for Sookie's New Home
I don't know about you, but I am hooked on True Blood. The main quibble I have with this show, though, is why doesn't Sookie just move somewhere far, far away from Bon Temps Louisiana? I mean, the place is full of vampires, werewolves, a crazy maenad, not to mention gigantic opossums and alligators just dying to sink their teeth into the poor girl.
Sookie currently lives in her grandmother's farmhouse, which has its own shabby-chic country charm, except that she always seems to be scrubbing up blood from the floors, walls and furniture. Plus, poor Gran was murdered in the kitchen. The place is chock full of bad chi, and Sookie needs a change.

First, Sookie's new house needs a sturdy fence and gate to help keep out the undesirables. Perhaps if she moves on to the closest big city, New Orleans, she'll choose a home like this. I mean, there must be a lot of ways for a mind reader to make lots of money, right?
Sookie should probably have a red front door. Vampires have to have permission from humans to come inside, and this will set out a subtle signal that she's interested.
Sookie has had a Southern front porch her entire life, so I think we'd better give her one of those as well.
Because she seems to have to do a lot of mopping up of blood in the kitchen, something minimal and sleek is ideal, and red is her favorite accent color.
Because she loves her floral prints, we'll let Sookie add a few more modern ones here and there, like these host and hostess Velin chairs.

On to the family room. Because Sookie is a fairy, she should keep around some reminders of the forest and the fairy plane. These birds on the branches and the soothing green will help her remember to hold onto her light.
Tara, Sookie's BFF, has been through a lot. Even though she made some kind of crazy nest with a big egg in it in Sookie's bed when she was possessed during Season 2, Sookie is a very loyal friend. She will always have a nice soothing guest room for Tara to stay in for however long she wants to.

We'll also give this to Tara to keep next to her bed, since she's had such bad experiences with vampires.
Speaking of guests, she should keep a nice trailer on her property for her brother Jason to stay in when he visits. Plus, if all of the undesirables find her again, she can simply hitch the thing up and start over somewhere new.
As for her vampire guests, they just need a spot in the crawl space to stay in during the daylight hours.
Are you a True Blood fan? The set decoration on the show is quite remarkable. They really capture the mood of the eerie swampy town, as well as each character's background and personality.
Which other characters would you like to see get some new digs or a remodel? My second choice was redecorating Fangtasia, third place goes to Bill Compton's house.
