Merry Christmas to all my GW friends. I hope you all have a safe and blessed day tomorrow. I just finished cleaning the house, while listening to Christmas music, enjoying an evergreen candle and watching the snow gently fall and now will get ready for church. All four adult kids will be here for dinner after church and then of course all day tomorrow, along with my mom who lives with us. I took a break this year, after 30 some years, and am not having the whole family over (about 30 of us). I needed a break. I'm taking some heat for it, but it wouldn't be the holidays without some family drama. LOL May your drama be non-existent this year!

Wait a minute. A truck crashed into your house? Did I miss this story? My MIL once was having lunch in Georgetown and a car crashed through the window of the restaurant. The waiters had to get her to move to another table, I think she would have sat there eating her salad while the radiator of the car was releasing its steam. :) I also want to say thank you to everybody for all the help and hand holding you are providing me with lately. It's a traditional Holiday dish, I got the recipe from a genuine French Canadian. There are different versions but I always make this one. Believe it or not, it's traditional also to eat it with some ketchup on it. Here's my recipe: Pork Pie (this recipe makes 2 pies) 1/2 lb. ground beef 1/2 lb. ground pork 1 chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 1 Tbs. bell's seasoning 1 tsp. celery seed 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. crushed red pepper 1/2 tsp. cloves 2 tsps. beef boullion 1 cup hot water 1 lb. diced potatoes, cooked and mashed with 3 Tbs. butter 4 pie crusts Directions: brown ground meat, add onion and garlic, saute until soft. Add all seasonings, spices and boullion dissolved in hot water. Simmer very low until almost all the liquid is gone. In the meantime, cook the potatoes and mash them with butter. Add to meat mixture and blend well. Pour into 2 pie crusts, top with remaining 2 pie crusts. Bake for 10 minutes at 425, then lower to 350 and bake for 45 more minutes. Use your favorite crust recipe, - I use one that calls for half and half shortening and butter. I always make this the day before then heat it back up for the Christmas dinner.
