I hope everyone has a very happy holiday season and I wanted to thank the many members on GW for always being so generous with their advice and ideas, even when I haven't always appreciated it (especially when I first visited the forum).

I'm STILL in the planning stages of my remodel, due to various setbacks, the latest being a pick up truck running into both our vehicles, before crashing into our home. This happened over a month ago and we're still dealing with insurance companies! Hopefully, we'll be able to start repairs soon...but in the meantime, I've distracted myself (when possible) with updating my remodeling plans...and just reading the often funny, sarcastic, witty, ALWAYS helpful, creative, wonderful ideas on this forum.

Thank you all for helping me get through a rough month...and enjoy your holidays! :)

Yikes, Lavander, that runaway pick-up incident is horrible.

I am glad that no one in your household was injured, however, pray that the insurance company will make good your loss.

My experience of the world is that sometimes chaos and dismay up front buys you a really good outcome. You have put so much thought and care into planning your renovation, you deserve a final kitchen that is as splendid as your vision.

Best wishes for a joyful and tranquil holiday. Don't forget some apples for the horses.

Wow, both vehicles and your home, that's astonishing! I'm sorry for the setback. I hope the holidays bring some much-deserved peace and good times with your family (especially after your recent turmoil.) I agree, the folks here are wonderful.

Wait a minute. A truck crashed into your house? Did I miss this story? My MIL once was having lunch in Georgetown and a car crashed through the window of the restaurant. The waiters had to get her to move to another table, I think she would have sat there eating her salad while the radiator of the car was releasing its steam. :)

I also want to say thank you to everybody for all the help and hand holding you are providing me with lately.

Goodness, Lavender, sorry about the truck incident! That's quite a setback indeed.

Our house had a car crash through the kitchen window, many years before we bought it. Fortunately, no one was home, so there were no injuries. In conjunction with the repairs, the owners added a nice bay window and the peninsula that I have come to love.

My goodness, Lavender. Sorry to here about the mishap. Silver lining - did they hit anything you are remodelling anyway?

Happy Holidays to you too LL, and to all the folks here. Better to start a remodel under your own terms than forced by an accident. I hope the insurance company pays off soon and you can get on with your repairs and then your remodel.
