Please help us choose our counters, faucets and lighting

Here�s the story, my girlfriend and I bought a home last week, it�s not finished yet and we have options. We both have ideas of what we like, but we don�t want to make huge mistakes and would be thrilled to have your input. The Kitchen has natural Oak hardwood floors and is U-Shaped, the cabinets are Maple Amaretto (dark brown, with the an almost impossible to see cherry touch. We would have an easier time deciding if we were living there, but we�re 600 miles away and don�t have the option to go back due to our work situation, until it�s done. Any help you can give us would be amazing. I�ve listed what we were thinking for the kitchen there a touch of bathroom stuff, only because we didn�t know if we should run the same counters from the kitchen throughout the baths. The sinks will be undermount everwhere, white in the baths, stainless in the Kitchen. I included faucets and light fixtures too, probably went a bit overboard. We like modern stuff, but also like timeless, so we�re trying to mix the two, or at least come to a happy medium.

As for backsplash, we're thinking of something like a mini slate tile, oranges, rust, blacks, greys, golds. Or a layered slate, something with a natural rustic feel for our somwhat modern cabinets.
