Please help - Best location in our living room for TV?

I'm sure hoping someone on this forum can help. Our LR room dimensions are apx. 12' x 21'. Unfortunately, there is limited wall space in the LR...a fireplace and sliding doors are along one long wall, and the opposite long wall opens to the kitchen.

I recently showed a furniture layout to a decorator. For some time we had been planning to put a couch against one of the short walls (near the fireplace) and the TV on the opposite shallow wall, apx. 21' away. She said this is too far, even if the TV is large. She suggested that the TV go over the fireplace, that this would look better. So I moved the couch to try this, and it feels too high (even if the TV screen is angled)...The mantel is 4' high and the viewing area from a sectional couch would only be 11' to 12' away.

The only other options I can think of are:

1. place a TV on the shallow wall near the fireplace, and wrap the couch around that; this would visually cut the room in half with the couch placement, or

2. somehow place a TV under the mantal, assuming the fireplace is not used.

I would sure appreciate your help.
