Sounds like you don't want/use a dining table, so don't have one. Change the art to something more representative of you and your family at this stage. Could even be created by your kids ;-) Definitely a long console and larger casual rugs for both spaces. is there any way you can get longer window coverings? you have beautiful crown, and a very nice window, but those drapes are really too short. The rod should be hung higher and the drapes need to hit the floor I think you'll find it looks a lot better if you try it. and also, that current arrangement, sorry, it just looks awkward. the tv is too far over (I know you have to clear the door) and the sofa is blocking the fireplace, and it's off center (Plus, only the front portion of the sofa should be on an area rug of that size) I just think you could find a better fix. this is an entry way and shouldn't be used for the tv wall. .

I’m still working on my room! I took a break for a while because I couldn’t find anything I liked. I did find this plant shelving thing that I like. My question is? Does it look ok with my picture or should I find something similar to put there? I just put some plants I have up there for now. I like the black one. I’m just thinking it’s not matching. Hi John! I like option 1 because I don't like opening the door and falling into the living room. Option 1 is also good because it gives you the possibility of adding more seating if you find you are the just the host with the most and your parties are larger. I like the furniture pieces you have selected, they have clean lines and are contemporary and masculine, however for interest and variety I would add something curvilinear and stuffed, such as a round stuffed large ottoman on which you put up your feet, rest a tray, and it could also serve as an extra seat. If it is large enough it might even seat two (if they know each other well :) You can find one in leather, tufted or not, according to your taste. Or a velvet is sumptuous too, but I think a leather will hold up better to feet and trays being slip across it. Also, with your furniture being mostly clean lines and rectilinear it is important to have artwork and a few bibelots with curvilinear shapes and textures and material from nature. Think about what of those things you like that you might want to incorporate. Less is more of course, a few well-chosen things is all you need. Good luck!
