In need of special thoughts, please

This is our week for surgeries....My DH is having a MOHs cancer treatment today. He's been battling skin cancer for 30 years and these surgeries are becoming more frequent...

Tomorrow, my 2nd son is having open heart surgery...When he was 17 he was diagnosed with Hodgkins and had to have 127 radiation treatments. Having that many treatments, damaged the heart and now he has to have a valve and artery replaced...

And on Friday, my oldest son is having a very bad hernia repaired...

Like I said, this is our week...

He's actually having the surgery here. Or HAD the surgery I should say. He's home and on the couch watching the tube and listening/watching the new videos I downloaded to his IPod. He says it hurts but he's so much more tough than me. I'd be in bed trying to sleep it off. :) I got the bed ready for him, but I should have known better. I guess I'd better get ready for a long week of Poker programs and The Discovery Channel. LOL (except when I take over for an hour tonight to watch Jon and Kate +8) Thanks again everyone! Stac yes I am off the meds.They gave me meds for the craving.Thanks for asking.I really feel good.To answer the question about the staph,he had a big knot come up under his knee.He thought it was a blood clot.He went back to the dr and they did a MRI and they said it was staph.They placed him on some strong antibodic but it kept getting worst.The knot busted and drained but he felled and things went down hill from there.So they operated Monday.He stayed in surgery several hrs.They found other problems too I forgot to mention.So they were calling in a kidney dr.So I am not sure when he can come home.I hope he does not rush things.Thanks for all the well wishes.His wife is just getting over cancer.She had to have a complete hysterectomy[can not spell the word).They had gave her 6 months to live but when they got in there all the cancer was all in one pocket.We are thankful for this.She is doing really good.Her cancer had not spread like they first thought.She didn't even have to have chemo.I wished the dr had not told her /us they gave her 6 months without doing the surgery first.Maybe I am wrong.She had several tumors on the overies and uterus.But like I said she is doing great now.

Prayers are said daily for little Bradley and "all" children with cancer at St. Jude's and other hospitals. I just said a prayer for little Halle.

I am sending up healing prayers for your entire family. Having one serious procedure to contend with is hard, but yours, with 3, I just can't imagine. I also pray for you to have the strength to deal with all of it.

My goodness, that's a lot to absorb. Hope this week is over quickly for you and everyone is well soon. Special prayer for you. Hard to see the ones we love in the hospital.

I am sad that you have all of those serious issues to deal with just now ... and focussed all in one week.

I send many good thoughts and hopes, and prayers for good results, with enthusiasm.

Often we would like to take the place of a loved one in such circumstances, I think - especially a child, i.e. one of our offspring. Perhaps especially when they were children, for we sort of think that it's unfair to dump such a load on one not yet grown.

Perhaps less so once they're grown ... more or less along the line of, now that they're grown and mature, they can take their chances, as all adults must. Well, yes, but ... a son/daughter's always a daughter/son, and each has a special spot in our hearts, which makes it hard to see them suffer serious uncertainty, pain, etc.

((((((Husband ... Son No 1 ... Son No. 2 ... and Dorothy ... plus other family members also worrying)))))).

You know, I just left the Ashdown Roses website, where I was drawn to a beautiful fragrant, repeat blooming rambler called Super Dorothy. If there's a message in that, it's a reassuring one. Sending good wishes to you.
