Special thoughts please!

My neice and her daughter, 9 year old Halle, are headed to St. Jude tomorrow. They are going to biopsy her leg. She's been having pain and swelling in her tibia, and they've ruled out pretty much everything except the dreaded "C". My OTHER neice's daughter has osteosarcoma of the tibia, SAME SYMPTOMS, she has a donor bone in her leg, and cancer still pops up every now and then. She's been fighting this for years and she still goes to St. Jude. So, if you can find time, please! Say a prayer for Halle tomorrow. THANKS!

My special thoughts will be going out to Halle today, tomorrow and for all the tomorrows to come. She and her family must be so frightened knowing what the other child has been going through.

I am very sorry to hear this. I just want to say to Jan that she certainly has my sympathy. She is a special person. I am sure she knows that her mother cared dearly for her and that the quality time between them is her parting gift for Jan to remember always and hold near and cherish.

Stac yes I am off the meds.They gave me meds for the craving.Thanks for asking.I really feel good.To answer the question about the staph,he had a big knot come up under his knee.He thought it was a blood clot.He went back to the dr and they did a MRI and they said it was staph.They placed him on some strong antibodic but it kept getting worst.The knot busted and drained but he felled and things went down hill from there.So they operated Monday.He stayed in surgery several hrs.They found other problems too I forgot to mention.So they were calling in a kidney dr.So I am not sure when he can come home.I hope he does not rush things.Thanks for all the well wishes.His wife is just getting over cancer.She had to have a complete hysterectomy[can not spell the word).They had gave her 6 months to live but when they got in there all the cancer was all in one pocket.We are thankful for this.She is doing really good.Her cancer had not spread like they first thought.She didn't even have to have chemo.I wished the dr had not told her /us they gave her 6 months without doing the surgery first.Maybe I am wrong.She had several tumors on the overies and uterus.But like I said she is doing great now.

I am sad that you have all of those serious issues to deal with just now ... and focussed all in one week. I send many good thoughts and hopes, and prayers for good results, with enthusiasm. Often we would like to take the place of a loved one in such circumstances, I think - especially a child, i.e. one of our offspring. Perhaps especially when they were children, for we sort of think that it's unfair to dump such a load on one not yet grown. Perhaps less so once they're grown ... more or less along the line of, now that they're grown and mature, they can take their chances, as all adults must. Well, yes, but ... a son/daughter's always a daughter/son, and each has a special spot in our hearts, which makes it hard to see them suffer serious uncertainty, pain, etc. ((((((Husband ... Oh no! Sending good thoughts and prayers for Halle. One of our friend's daughters (named Hailie) just went through treatment and a knee replacement earlier this year for Osteosarcoma. She's fine now... but that's so much for a kid to have to go through.

I will certainly remember her and the family in my prayers. There is nothing sadder than a sick child, so my heart goes out to the parents.

Prayers are said daily for little Bradley and "all" children with cancer at St. Jude's and other hospitals. I just said a prayer for little Halle.
