Triplets pic...first birthday

These are my great grands who live in Oregon..haven't met them. From left to right, it's Payton, Ethan and then Morgan Dee (who's named after my late DD, Sherrie Dee).

Just luv their little individual faces. :)

Today is the last of the January birthdays for the Birthday Block Exchange group. (Happy Birthday, Andrea!!!) As you may remember, Kristene and I are alternating months for being the hostess for that month so I am the hostess for January. If all the January birthday quilters will e-mail me a few weeks after your birthday to let me know the status of which blocks have been received, that will be a big help so I can check on any that may not have been received. We really want to stay on top of things. Hopefully your report will be that all of your blocks were received. I hope everyone has managed to fit in a little sewing this month. My older daughter is expecting triplets this Spring so I have been busy making two baby quilts and Andrea (dragonflyUSC) - who is my younger daughter - made the third one. We are headed to CA soon for the baby shower and I will post pictures of the quilts after I come back. I don't want to spoil the surprise. It has been cold here and we have gotten snow twice since Christmas so that has been an adventure. Of course, when there was ice on the roads was when my sewing maching started to misbehave. Isn't that how it always goes? I struggled along with it and managed to get it through the two baby quilts so hooray for that! I'll be back to "visit" with you soon. Jeanne

Give yourself a pat on the back, too, Mary. Sounds like we have some very busy quilters here! It seems like every year we have lots of January and March birthdays in the groups. I wonder if those are months that have an ususually high number of births -- or if it is just special for quilters -- or for quilters who sign up for the Birthday Block Exchange? LOL The quilt guild that I belong to had a lecture by Leah Day last evening and I had a full day class with her today. Interesting! I think everyone knows about her web site where she shows how to do much of her free motion quilting. If you don't know about it - take a look. You can do a search for her name and will find it. Jeanne~ Isn't it funny (no, not really:( when we plan on getting something accomplished, like your UFOs, some other thing cries out for our attention! Then our plans take a 360 & ... well, you know the rest! I have been very hit & miss here lately. I'll be on 2 days in a row then off for a week. Life keeps getting in the way. My biggest problem these days is that I cannot quilt when I have little ones in my house. I could if they were mine! But when I have other people's children, I feel I need to give them all my attention. (Plus my sewing room is at the opposite end of the house from the family room) Depending on the day, I'll have anywhere from 1 child to 7. Unfortunately, the only 2 who are potty trained are in school part of the day! Seems like I change a lot of diapers or I'm taking someone to the potty! 2 of the boys are being potty trained & doig very well. But they are still at the stage where when they've gotta go, get out of the way! LOL Of course, by the time they've all left & dinner is over, I'm exhausted!! It's not at all unusual for me to fall asleep before finishing dessert! LOL 'Course then I feel obligated to stay up late to make up for the 30 min I lost! Right now I'm putting the binding on 2 graduation quilts & piecing (still) a 3rd. Also have a baby quilt & 'big brother' quilt to make as soon as the others are finished. I had hoped to get to a few UFOs by now but no way is that going to happen! How does that line go?? 'Please stop the music - I'm dancing as fast as I can!' ?? Make it 'quilting as fast as I can' & that's me! ;) And probably a few others this time of year too! How 'bout the rest of you?? What is everyone else doing?? *I hope we hear from Kay soon that all went well w/her surgery! ~Cindy BTW - I'm jealous re:your garden! With all this rain ours isn't even IN yet! ('course neither is anyone elses', but geez!)

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. A friend and I went fabric shopping so you know I had a nice day. There is a shop about a 45 min. drive from us that had a sale and good quilt shop quality fabrics were marked down to $2.50 a yard! I don't know how they do it, but I am thankful. I got three large cuts (4 1/2 yards each) so if I decide to use them as backing at some point I will have enough. Obviously I got some 1, 2, and 3 yard pieces, too. At that price you felt like lining up with as much as you could carry. The cutting lines were pretty long, but eveyone was courteous and in a very good mood. No pushing, shoving, or snatching fabric from someone else. I like it when people behave at a sale. I also left my machine to get its annual check up and cleaning. (Well, more than a year since I did that, but time sneaks up on us...) Has anyone already started making things for Christmas? Not me, but I guess it will at least be time to start thinking about fall decorating and Halloween soon. I need to read through the suggestions about next year and the Birthday Block Exchange again so I can post something about that - at least by early October. Any other thoughts or ideas that you didn't already list, just let me know. Jeanne

How adorable.....Can you imagine the fun or trouble these 3 can have......A friend of mine had identical triplet boys and to this day, I still can't tell them apart and they have to be in their late 30s....
What a rare treat to have twins or triplets.....

Yes, Sherrie Dee was their grandmother and my daughter who died at age 37 before any of her grandbabies were born. I think Morgan Dee resembles her late grandmother, too. :)

The triplets have two older siblings, an 8 yr. sis and a 5 yr. old brother...a house full for sure!

My hat's off to anyone who can manage triplets. My DD has twins and they are a handful. Can't imagine 3. They are really cute and I like all their names.

What CUTE babies! And isn't it interesting how they look so different? My twin GKs don't look like they're even related, but at 6 yrs. old, they've still got that "twin thing" going on, being soooo closely bonded to each other.
And mucho CONGRATS to the parents for making it through this 1st year! When my GKs were born, their sis was almost 2 & brother was 4 & 1/2 -- kind like your triplets older sibs. It was CHAOS until the twins were 3, going on 4. Now, with them 11, 8, 6 AND 6, it is SOOOO much fun with them. I had them for 4 days recently and it was great! Tell the parents to hang in there doing multiples through the toddler stuff, potty training, teaching them to feed themselves, etc. --- it DOES get way easier in a few years!

Thanks everyone for all the sweet comments! :)

Even though I'm a long distance Gran, I'm proud of this family..it hasn't been easy for them (I've tried to help as much as I can). I'm also glad they have a great support system in Portland, Oregon..and maybe a little jealous since I can't get in my share of hugs and kisses.

I know the triplets' big sister has been a great little helper. Their 5 yr. old brother has Autism so they have an extra challenge, too, bless them all.
