I'm of the "if you ask them, then give it to them" mode when it comes to paint colors and kids. Especially in the kids' rooms. As much as I hate to paint, paint is easy to change. My daughter wanted a muted pink in her room. The more she looked at samples, the more muted she went. Her final choice looks nice, it matches a color off her area rug. We used it as the wainscot and trim color. The upper walls were a more neutral ivory. Pretty much every one of her friends, whether it be in elementary school or high school, were ticked off in one way or another at their own parents after seeing that we actually implemented her ideas instead of asking and then going "adult" in design. Have fun! Embrace it! The fun part for me was priming. I tinted the primer and it was a gawd-awful bright bubble gum barbie pink. Retina burning. I primed and told her that was the final color. A bit of uneasyness, then "Uhhh...errrr...okay Dad! Looks great!" Gotta love 'em. My son's room is a bit overboard. He's always had orange as his favorite color, his room is black trim with an orangey-black cork on the walls. Halloween to the extreme. A definite teenage boy cave. But it's his design, he loves it. Time flies. Have fun with them while they're around to have fun with. Papa Mongo

I think that's because both colors look great. I'd go with the lighter color myself. That's a really pretty shower. Renee

Sorry I don't have a photo, but we have Sherwin-Williams "Travertine" in our kitchen next to a travertine backsplash, and we get quite a few compliments on it. I wouldn't recommend SW paint any more, seems to me it doesn't cover as well as some others, but if you like the "Travertine" a paint store will match it in another brand. I just pulled up the color online -- they've put it in the "orange" category, and on my computer it looks pink, so you'd probably have to go to the store to get a color chip if you're interested. It's certainly not orange or pink; actually a bit like a gold or a tan; hard to pinpoint just what color it is.

I really wanted to reface the vanity, but it was going to be $850, which I thought was too much. I will probably do something later, but may reface it myself instead of getting someone else. For now, I painted it, added new hardware, and now just have to paint and attach the shoe molding.
