fire fox users, I have a question

How do I make a clickable link/icon on my desktop? I can make one that ends up being internet explorer, but that won't open, and isn't what I want.

I don't have fire fox, but can you right click and there is a place that says create a shortcut. Would that work?

Like Joann said, right click on the program you want a short cut for and a menu will come up, click on short cut. Most of the time it will say the short cut will be on your desk top. If you are start/programs, you often have to drag it to the desk top or cut and paste it there. I like a clean desktop so I made sure the quick launch was activated and I put it in there. It is the items just to the right of start on the task bar.

Tricia, my KF will read portrait and landscape style. The cover I have makes it look like a book with a semi hard cover, and the KF just slides into a slot/pocket in the cover, and as you fold the cover you can either hold it like a book or turn the cover into the stand. I've only had it a little over a week, but really like it. Do make sure you buy the correct cover for the kindle (or any ereader) that you buy, as they are NOT universal. Definitely go to Best Buy and check out all of them, not just the various kindles. I'm sure you will enjoy it! Sending good wishes for the desired results of your dr's confrence call. Tami

mago this is what it says about dom inspector on the firefox site: DOM Inspector is a tool that can be used to inspect and edit the live DOM of any web document or XUL application. The DOM hierarchy can be navigated using a two-paned window that allows for a variety of different views on the document and all nodes within. Note: This add-on depends on binary changes to Firefox, and will not work with Firefox 2. I do not have it, never used it, so can not comment on it, if you do not use it then you can easily remove it. In fact I see you have ff 2 and it says that dom inspector does not work with ff 2??? There is a post some pages back that I had started called tips and tricks that thread has a lot of good info on ff ad ons and other useful stuff.

I wonder if you've cleared your history-cache-cookies lately. I also am curious what version you're running, and how many add-ons you've added to it. If you want to uninstall a program, you typically don't start "deleting" things...unless you want more problems than you had before. Millions of people use Firefox with great success. If you think Firefox is the problem, I predict you'll be just as unhappy with Safari or any other browser. I think you're having a PEBKAC day.

Maybe Firefox has lost some QC in the process? I was having random stability problems with Firefox, including whole machine freeze-ups, odd behavior, crashes. Different machines with different users and not all the same Win versions. I deleted Firefox, put Chrome in a prominent position, and all is well. I had no compelling reason to keep it and have found with regular use I like Chrome better. Everyone has a different experience. Android-wise, I just use whatever was bundled with it, it seems fine. I always try to use purpose-built apps more than the browser anyway.

No, that doesn't work. It makes an internet explorer icon, and when I click on it, it won't open.

Are you referring to the Firefox icon? Is it in your start menu? If it is, you can click and drag it to your desktop.

Moni...I think you need to make Firefox your default browser.
If you are using Vista...go to the Control Panel and click on Default Programs and follow prompts.

Got it. I didn't realize, firefox wasn't my default browser. It now is, and I got my clickable website icons.
