jeanteach, I was just thinking about your kitchen the other day-specifically your countertops. (I remember when you posted a photo of your granite sample half "natural" and half done with enhancing sealer, that was eye opening for me.) I'm glad you found your post, your kitchen does need to be archived!

I am so glad you started this thread, jeanteach. I've searched for pictures of your kitchen before and not been able to find any. You were one of the reasons I got Jet Mist granite and used white subway tile for a backsplash and I do like to look at and re-look at my inspiration kitchens.

I do have a question. Did you enhance your Jet Mist? I have a granite sample where one side is enhanced and the other not enhanced and thought I liked the enhanced side better. I told the stone person to enhance ours. He is supposed to come back tomorrow or Friday to do it. However, I'm kind of liking the way the granite already looks. So now I am not so sure.

Jolynna: I would love to see your finished kitchen with the Jet Mist and white subway tile. Did you ever post it? I did enhance the Jet Mist. The fabricator had already applied a sealer, though, and I am convinced to this day that applying the enhancer on top of that was not ideal, because even though I LOVE the way the granite looks with the enhancer, I still have some issues with streaking and water rings and some general marks I don't like (but that probably only I can see). I think the best approach is to have the enhancer applied onto "naked" granite. It is also a sealer, so there is no need for a separate sealer. In terms of what you like best, that is really just based on your own tastes. While I did like the grayer look of the original Jet Mist, my original concept was for a much blacker stone (like Absolute Black), so I was happy that the enhancer made the grayish Jet Mist much more black. But if you like it the way it is then perhaps you should keep it. You can always apply the enhancer later if you choose to. It's really easy to do.
