In response to the most recent posts (not trying to respond to the original from 3 years ago) - Winds Breath is more yellow in hue than green (in terms of the actual color) so if it looks green it is possibly reflecting green from some source (like if there's a lot of greenery outside the window) or it has to do with lighting. White Sand definitely has yellow in it - not "undertones" per se but the hue family is yellow. Every neutral belongs to a hue family so perhaps you need to find a cool white or gray? The conundrum I think for you is that if you want a soft, off-white those are yellow in hue. Sherwin Williams Icicle is a cool very light gray if you're trying to get away from yellow and green. Below is a link is to a great resource. Unfortunately, a year or so ago when I was using the information to choose paint colors there was more free info available that now requires a subscription. A good number of paint colors are analyzed though. If you have the patience you can get away from all the subjective information you see online about undertones with this system - it takes the guesswork out of the equation. Land of Color

@paynerobin Can you tell me what trim color you used with Natures Essentials/Natural Cream? I just had kitchen cabinets in Natural Cream installed and now struggling with wall/trim color. Would like a white/soft white paint color for walls and trim. I was considering Cloud White, White Dove. I like Swiss Coffee but not enough contrast. I know I do not want Chantilly Lace on the walls,,any recommendations for a white that goes well with Natural Cream/Nature Essentials?

Since you say you have a lot of natural light you might be looking at colors that are too warm. Even if you don't like gray you might need a hint of gray to tone down the color. I have a living room with a large south facing window. I tried some of the colors you mentioned and they were all too warm, or bright or too something for the space. I ended up with BM Classic Gray. It's not very gray in the light I have. If you like a darker color try Balboa Mist or Edgecomb Gray. I have Edgecomb Gray in my bedroom and it is very neutral, but also doesn't look very gray, despite it's name. How do you feel about green? There are some neutrals that lean green in some light.

When planning a whole home color palette I often use multiple colors. I generally use a neutral in the living room and hallways and might bring it into other rooms (dining room, kitchen, laundry, bath or bedrooms, but can also do those rooms with color. It depends on what else is the same or different. If you have the same flooring and trim throughout you can change wall color and still create a feeling of cohesiveness. In my last home I had different flooring, but used the neutral on the ceilings throughout the house and that created the flow from room to room. The key is to carry the colors from room to room, so if you use the blue on the walls in the dining room you want the neutral in the area rug, chair upholstery, art or décor (centerpiece, bowls on the sideboard. . . ). In the adjoining living room where the walls are neutral I want some of the blue in the décor. You may want to add a 2nd accent color in the living room and have that color in the foyer. What you don't want is one room that is totally disjointed from the other rooms that are in the same sightline. You want to walk from one room to the next and have the same colors, but in different ratios. You can also use lighter and darker shades of the same colors. There are so many ways to add color, you just need to decide which colors make your heart sing and how you want to incorporate them into your home.
