Listing realtor wants me to sign something before I look at house
Comments (20)So I met the realtor last night and I had totally gotten the wrong impression of her over the phone!! She did not bring any contracts or buyer agreement to sign. She didn't ask me to sign anything at all so I have no idea why she was asking for all that information over the phone (maybe she had me confused with someone else because she seemed confused about a few things last night) She was very nice, brought the disclosure forms for each house and a list of some other homes she has listed and some info she pulled off the MLS about other realtor's listings she thought I might be interested in. She gave me a folder of papers that included information about banks, home inspectors, lawyers, surveyors, appraisers, utility companies etc. Not a referral list but just a comprehensive list of those who did this work for the area. The 2nd house that she showed me I liked but found out it has been listed since May of last year!! She said mostly first time buyers are looking at it but because of bad credit financing has fallen through twice. She said the buyers are going into foreclosure (they moved out in June of 2007) and they would probably take a lot less than asking price just to avoid foreclosure. I was pleasantly suprised by the realtor....See MoreWhy would realtor keep listings off Zillow and Trulia?
Comments (36)I'm in the process of buying my first home, and true, when I first started looking I browsed Zillow and Trulia, but quickly realized they're NOT the best source of info on houses. My realtor linked me to a private client site which updated with every single MLS that fit my criteria, and out of the search sites only Realtor had accurate information on the houses. Often listings on Zillow and Trulia are long gone and sold, and in the case of the house we're about to close on, it shows as off market on both sites. I even saw a listing to an amazing house at an amazing price and; as we usually did while house hunting, we sometimes drove by the house to see if it was worth it getting my Realtor to schedule a showing, or if the neighborhood was not something we even wanted to consider; when we drove by it the house did not even exist at that address....See MoreTansy next to me, and moving in. How worried should I be
Comments (13)"If it is labelled noxious in your state, the owner of the property must remove it - a call to the town may be in order." This is not the case in WA state. The noxious weed/invasive species list is broken down into 3 classes with only the Class A weeds requiring attention. Tansy ragwort (Senecio jacobaea) is a Class B noxious weed and plain ole tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) is a Class C noxious weed. Control is encouraged with Class B&C weeds but NOT mandated. Since we have not yet seen the plant in question, it could very well be either tansy ragwort or just the tansy on the neighboring property. Cutting them back is a decent option. Personally I'd be far more concerned about the broom invading my property than either of the tansies....See MoreHow many houses should realtor send me per week?
Comments (10)I had been looking for 2 years in a very specific region in Katy, Tx and finally bought one within the past few months. The Houston market and surrounding areas can be a little challenging to say the least. My view is that the Realtor is there to assist you like if you want to view a property or something like that. I wouldn't leave it entirely up to the realtor to find you homes. The home I wound up buying was a home I found on Zillow. I drove out to it on my own and upon seeing the outdoor area called my realtor from the property to set a time to view it. I had an offer on the place within 24 hours. With that said, you can set up search criteria on Zillow and probably the others as well and then save that search and Zillow will send you homes that come for sale within your search criteria. I looked at homes daily from my current home to find the new one. The flip side of sites like Zillow is that you have to 'somewhat' prove the listing is real. Sometimes the listing are fake, which is why when I saw the home I wound up buying I drove to it and seeing the for sale sign out front knew it was a real listing. Another tell tale sign is a lock box on the front door....See Morebrickeyee
