Is this the most bizzare thing you've heard...

or is it just me?

Why would an adult woman act this way? My dd, Lauren, informed me today that she isn't allowed to eat any food her step-mother buys anymore. So, she's supposed to know what foods her father buys and only eat those.

She also has left her alone or with her friends who were spending the night, taken her own daughter shopping and out to eat but said nothing to Lauren when she leaves.

One day she left her when she was playing over a friend's house near her father's. She got hurt on a trampoline, cut her leg and they were gone when she got home. I just find that bizzare not to tell a young girl that you are leaving to go somewhere or to at least ask if she wants to go with you. Her father was at work when they all happened.

According to Lauren, the step mother has gotten into fights with her father because he spends time with her when she goes over there. She said she is very jealous of her, and makes comments that Lauren is "up his butt all the time". They went to Six Flags yesterday without the wife and her daughter because "they always ruin it", picking a fight and whining.

It hurts my dd's feelings and kinda ticks me off that she's treated like she's not wanted. I just don't understand why a nearly 40 year old woman would act that way. It's not like Lauren is over there constantly. During the school year she's there every other weekend, from (usually) late Saturday morning to about 8 or 9 pm Sunday night. She's spending more time now only because it's summer.

Ok, I just wanted to get that off my chest. Do you know anyone who acts this way around step children? Sad thing is both kids really liked her when they first met her, but now they both can't stand her.
