What color to paint kitchen with this back splash?

We're closing on our house next week and the kitchen is the first thing on our list. We have white cabinets and we will have dark wood flooring. The main accent color will be teal coordinating with the fiestaware peacock color. I love this backsplash and we will have dark counters as well. What color should I paint the walls? Thank you!!

Maybe pick a gold that is in the backsplash so the blue fiesta ware will pop against it.

I am looking for the same. New white kitchen in a home built in 1928- my adjacent dining room is also a green. We have wood floors and will have some stainless. I am still trying to figure out countertops and backsplash- designer and architect like white subway. There is a beautiuful green kitchen on this site somewhere I think the name was "Bulkey". You might be able to do the same in grey. If you cannot find it I think I have filed a photo of it. I think it may be a Candice Olsen design. I am wanting a sunnnier color for mine - I tend to love the yellows and am even considering an apricot/paler mango color. Now sure how this would work with the green dining room - but I cannot stop thinking about it. I will keep you posted on my colors as they change. Does anyone have a kitchen that is apricot or mango?

nosoccermom, Yes those tiles were the ones we had actually looked at already. We definitely need a new floor, the old one has been really beaten up and in fact was only glued around the edges, and it's coming up around the wall in some parts, and overall looks dingy. We weren't sure how the color would fit in with the kitchen however. The interior designer recommended something called "grey washed" is what I have written down. I like the appeal of the luxury vinyl, they aren't cold tile, easy to install, and the grout is actually a better version than regular tile group in that it's not porous.

The 4" backsplash is part of the laminate counter, as much as I'd Iove to replace them we just don't have the money for it right now. They were actually forest green and I painted them with rustoleum countertop paint for the time being :) @Riley that's what I was thinking, I'm just so scared of color! But that is very true if it doesn't work I'll just paint over it What color would work for this kind of thing? I'm not big on red/orange/yellows

A girlfriend of mine has a similar color palette - iridescent glass backsplash, black counters,dark floors - and she chose a rich eggplant color. I don't think I could do it in my kitchen, but it looks really sharp in her kitchen.

Thank you for all of the suggestions! I WISH I was brave enough to do an eggplant. It's one of my favorite colors.

A warm gray does sound really nice. I will be sure to post before and afters in a couple of weeks. :D

I'm with Threedgrad - go GOLD! It would be such a warm and welcoming space -- gray leaves me cold. So much gold already reflects off that beautiful backsplash, it would be just gorgeous to have warm gold walls.

Gold sounds nice too. I will have to get some swatches. I picked up all the grey swatches at home depot today and I couldn't find one that was really "doing it" for me. I think I'll need to paint some on the walls and see how it looks. I'll try the gold too. It sounds so warm.

Does anyone have a particular paint name in mind to help me narrow down the golds?

or the grays for that matter.

If that is the backsplash you're going with I would say go gold. The overall iridescent color in the tiles is a gold and an ochre/gold color paint would really complement the tiles. The backsplash will be the focal point and your Fiestaware will be the accent. You won't need any other colors in the mix. Keep it simple, especially with such bold and beautiful color choices.

I would go all the way with the drama you've already established, and choose a rich warm tone like Richmond Gold (BMoore HC-41) or even Greenfield Pumpkin (HC-40) to stand up to your backsplash, give your Fiestaware a strong background, and balance the strength of the other colors. Your white cabinets and trim would be very lively against that palette, and you'd be able to keep everything else uncluttered and simple.

Another vote for gold. Some popular choices here are SW Blonde and SW Restrained Gold.

Thank you all again for the wonderful suggestions. I'm liking the gold suggestion more and more just because we are already going with gray and white in the bathroom and in our bedroom. We have not decided on colors for the living room. The dining room will be a shade of light blue and white. Each room is compartmentalized so I don't have to worry too much about flow but I think the white in each room will bring them all together.

Now I just have to get hubby on board with the gold!
