Is crown molding feasible?

I'm not sure I'd add a tiled backsplash to laminate counters with the 4" back splash.

Current backsplash there will go away. Crown molding can happen but not sure if it would be worth it. House is around $200k mark.

Good move losing that yellow. If your demographic target is young, I would lean towards the glass tile. If you don't have a particular target, I would lean towards the safe white. If you can match the cabinets, crown molding is pretty cheap and easy DIY

I think the glass tile looks much better than the mini subway. The blue tiles actually calm down the orange tone of your cabinets and make the room look nicer and more modern. I'm not sure I like the paint color you've started painting, however.

I don't like the wall color either.

Blues/Greens are supposed to mute the yellow color of the cabinets which is why we chose that color. Also I think why the blue tiles look a lot nicer. With our countertop color however we were worried the grey would blend in too much and look very bland.

I like the glass tile much better. I'd choose that and rethink your wall color.

Our interior designer suggested Modern Gray, here it is next to the cabinets. Doesn't it look too bland? That is what we were worried about. I know it's hard to tell with pictures. Thank you for everyone's help.

i don't like either with the cabinets. At least, not on my monitor - ymmv.

the counter is the first thing someone will want changed. I wouldn't put in a backsplash,as it'll be harder to take off the formica. Paint all the wall surfaces the gray, and add some molding, maybe hardware. Skip the tiling work as the old formica in the bland color will be an immediate replace and putting extra things in will make the task more difficult.

First coat of paint on! You can see we went with the Modern Gray. We like it. As you can also see we are also still toying with the subway tiles :)! We know it makes way more sense to leave them off as I totally agree, the first thing anyone will do is replace the countertop. So completely a waste. Second coat goes on tomorrow.

Also needed is a new floor, pulls on the cabinets (someone suggested them, think it would be worth it?) and a hanging light for above the sink. I included a pic of the house itself, I think the colors go well with the outside of it too, thoughts?

I ordered a whole bunch of different colors (concrete, sagebrush, etc.) to make sure the color worked. They are not pinkish at all as on the web site.

I think if you're not replacing the counters at this time, you should leave the matching backsplash in place and not add any tiles. The new homeowner may want to replace the counters, and they can pick a b/s they like to go with.

When we pulled off that type of b/s it did a number on the wall board, so if you pull yours off you'll probably have to repair the wall.

Yes those tiles were the ones we had actually looked at already. We definitely need a new floor, the old one has been really beaten up and in fact was only glued around the edges, and it's coming up around the wall in some parts, and overall looks dingy. We weren't sure how the color would fit in with the kitchen however. The interior designer recommended something called "grey washed" is what I have written down. I like the appeal of the luxury vinyl, they aren't cold tile, easy to install, and the grout is actually a better version than regular tile group in that it's not porous.

If you order at Home Depot, shipping is included and you can return to any nearby Home Depot. I ordered a whole bunch of tiles, and they were actually happy when I dropped them off at HD because now they had more on display and for sale :) I'm assuming Lowes is the same.
