Fort Worth Get Together...picture

This afternoon around 1PM four KTer's met at Ernie's Restaurant. It was the first time for I believe 3 of the gals. We had a great time gabbing, talking about the KT and of course eating great food.

We chatted for over 2 hours and had a great time. Lots of hugs were shared when we parted and hopefully these gals will get together again real soon.

Wonderful pic!!!!! A bunch of pretty gals! I love to put (real) faces to names!! I always picture someone in my mind when I read their postings! And I have to say...I was Sooooo wrong on TrinityTX! (had you figured as dark, dark hair! LOL)

Just thought I would come back and update this thread! I think that I bought some of this stuff in late 2010, but I don't know definitely. I have notes from 2011. Ozark Premier plum from womack: growing great, no fruit yet. Redglobe peach from womack: growing great, fruited last year. less than a dozen peaches with good flavor. Orient pear from womack: growing great, no fruit. Eureka persimmon from womack: dead. my fault. transplanted in the heat of summer last year and it didn't make it. hadn't fruit yet. Phil's sweet pomegranate from edible landscaping: growing great. had two poms last year. very sweet, very little tartness. minimal hard seeds. Jersey knight asparagus from edible landscaping: growing great. harvested a few spears last year. already growing this year. Grapes from lowes: hit or miss on how well its doing. bought flame red, thompson red and monukka. Weeping mulberry from edible landscaping: growing. probably didn't trim properly, as its still very low. fruited last year and can already see fruit now. fruits were very edible (I was concerned that it might be more decorative). i would say sweet. Illinois everbearing mulberry: growing slowly. moved it last year, so it might be a little shocked. did get a handful of fruits last year. At my previous house, I had both navajo and arapaho blackberries in slight shade. They both grew. The navajo berries were superior in sweetness to the arapaho. I have chosen to put in some navajo at the current house.

poolguynj and other PB's thanks again for the quick follow ups and feedback on my questions and concerns. currently the PB still has his maintenance guy coming over daily to check the chemicals, brushing etc. and adding chemicals as needed. PB said that he would do that for about a month before turning it over completely to us for maintenance. natural one, thanks for your comments on the pool build. the PB was actually there for all of the stages and on site a quite often so we felt that he was on top of everything from beginning to end. as fari as the drains, personally it doesn't bother me and kinda like the contrast but that just me. what actually bothered me more was the color of the pool cleaner, it's white with a white hose and when i asked about it our PB said that to get the black one, it would be about 300 bucks more. uh, i decided the white one didn't look bad after all! also, we had a landscaper come out last week and give us a bid for some landscaping behind the pool. it was over 6800 for landscaping that i was not even going to be able to see since the back beam is raised.....i nearly swallowed my gum when he told us the price. so we are thinking now that we will reduce the size of the bed directly behind the pool, but add perhaps some windmill palms on each end to give it some character and instead, add some beds on each end of the pool so at least we can visually enjoy some of our expenses! the sun came out today so hopefully i can post some pictures this afternoon. The folks at the SWR get together auctioned off the Thompson's begonia book. Think whoever won it got a bargain but darned if I remember what the winning bid was (want to say $60?) I've seen it for $100 or more on eBay in the past. Edge is okay when it works just like IE. Win 10 has some issues though and I hope it is corrected soon. I noticed that their Photos, Start Button, Cortana, and Edge all seem to be entwined. For example if one quits they all quit. I used to reboot to fix any or all of those listed. I found out that I can sign out, sign back in, and it appears they all start working again. Very annoying though. I can post photos from IE on my Dell tablet though! Does this make any sense. I updated its OS to Win10 recently and the laptop I am on came with WIn10 already on it.

I plan to come this year and bring a new friend, my co-worker's mom. Sylvia, I have an abundance of manfreda that thrives in sunny, hot locations. I'll bring some for you. I also have some agave protoamericana pups that like the same conditions. I think that they top out at around 4X4. I have a nice patch of the comfrey that you shared with me some years back. Pretty blue flowers!

Great pic Nita! Thanks. It really does my heart good to see that you're still out there traveling around and meeting KTers. I think you were one of the first to push meeting people. I can only imagine how many KTers you have met over these years. Very cool. Always good to see you.

Thanks for posting our get together Nita, you beat me to it. We all had a lot of fun yesterday.
I felt like I had met Cardamom before. She seem really familiar to me, who knows, we just live a very short distance from one another. She worked at the same company I retired from 5 years ago. Small world. Bbabers is a sweetheart, and I was not surprised to find that she was a career librarian. Something I always wanted to be.
Thanks to all for taking the time to meet up with us. It was my first KT meet up, and I think I might be hooked.

Nita, you never have a boring day! I love that you find a way to get together with so many kters. As always I'm sure it was fun meeting each other and hearing their REAL voices. What a lucky bunch of ladies.

I was supposed to go to the Texas Get-together at Buzzard's...Nita said that was like 5 years ago! Couldn't believe.

Judy and I found our local connections; Bbabers was a librarian, I've been on our town's library board and Friend's board. Nita's folks and my folks all lived in Naples, FL and, of course, felt like I've known her for years...guess I have.

I've been busy, but have been lurking, thanks for keeping my phone number all these years, Nita. Judy and I decided for the next get-together...we're driving there together!
Had a wonderful time yesterday, looking forward to the next one.

This was really so much fun. I haven't posted very much, but maybe I will now. If you haven't been to one of these, you really should. I almost did not respond to Nita's call for a get together, and now I'm so glad I did. Judy, you would make a really great librarian. Cardamom, I'm so glad we met, and you are a fellow book person! Nita, thanks so much for doing this. Keep up the good work.

Sounds like a fun time! I also had pictured Trinity differently! Lovely group of ladies!!
