Pregnancy issues....feeling like carp

Boy being pregnant 2 years in a row and 4 babies and pregnancies in 5 years really stinks sometimes. I will get DH to post a pic, but I have been asked several times if I am due in July.... I say no the middle of November. I am really feeling it this time around, didn't have any morning sickness, took some meds and it made all the difference. But now that I am getting so much bigger already, my pelvis is so out of whack, and the chiropractor told me that making adjustments will be harder because my pelvis is loosening up and won't stay the way it is supposed to, that and my sciatic nerve started acting up a week ago Sunday and have no feeling in my right leg from my butt to my foot.

I helped DH move a roll of carpet from the truck downstairs ( I know, I know stupid move) and now my belly is hurting in all the muscles and ligaments are aching all over. Add to that my hormones are in overdrive. The house is a mess and the gardens need to be worked in. DH tilled the veggie garden and need to plant. The girls will help me plant, so we could have plants in interesting places, but at this point I don't care.

All I know is that being a year older, and I am almost 33 being pregnant isn't as easy as it was when I was 27 when I got pregnant with Rhiannon. We are in the middle of a remodel and all the rooms in the house will be moved around, and I mean every room. DH now has a "a man cave" downstairs and he has been working hard getting it ready this weekend and this week.

Just wanting to whine a little bit, my uterus ligaments and muscles are hurting so bad, it hurts to even stand up and move around. I am already wearing my maternity support belt to hold up my stomach, it is already starting to sag, Hayden weighs over 20 pounds and at 9 months isn't walking but crawling and walking around things and is into everything, so I have to carry him around which hurts each time I lift him. Add to that my worries about the in-laws and my mom had surgery a week and a half ago and can't do any lifting so can't help me out much. The girls are going to my sis's this weekend and take all 3 and give me time to heal a little bit.

Just complaining I guess:)

Oh gosh Stacie! You have my sympathies! I wish I was closer and I'd come and put you to bed awhile and "baby" you and them babies!
I'm just sorry there isn't more I can do than to offer a big, big hug!

Stacie, you poor dear. You are going to have to slow down and take it easy. Even if you weren't pregnant you would have a lot on your plate because of those younguns of yours. I hope things get easier for you.

I hate to make fun of you, but I couldn't help but laugh when I read that you were feeling like a fish.

I'm going to have to try that next time I have a small ham. I still have the 11.6 lb one in the freezer I have to do something with but that won't fit in my slowcooker. Our ham turned out well today - put foil in bottom of broiler pan, put in the ham and poured the juices from the shrink wrap over it, then brought foil up around it and sealed it tightly with double-folded seams. Warmed in preheated 325 oven for 45 min and then I was afraid my parents would be late (they weren't, but I was busy getting veggies done) so I turned the oven off and left it in another 30 min, it was very moist and not overly salty as I feared a non-smoked ham would be (and I got liquid on a scrape on my finger, so I know it WAS salted, though not salt-cured dry ham!). But it could have used some glaze or other flavoring IMHO - I think a little sugar/pineapple juice would have been nice. I hope the ham next Sunday is as good (I think I should freeze some of the leftovers, my parents only took a third of them, we're going to be tired of ham by next weekend!).

Terri, I've only used the toaster once, LOL, but it toasted both sides of the bread, so that's a good start! It has some special settings for bagels so it only toasts the cut side and some other settings I haven't played with yet. Gotta read the instructions to use the toaster, go figure! Monique, I will definitely be recreating that jam. It's much like RobinKate's Tomato Marmalade, sans oranges, and it was very, very yummy. Ann T, how could I go wrong? Food, food and more food. (grin) And a good cup of coffee after. Duane, Nancy and I agreed a couple of years ago that we wouldn't tell people that Michigan was actually only about 4 miles south of heaven itself, that we have world class beaches, complete with tides and breakers (and nothing in there wants to sting me, bite me or eat me either). We won't tell them that our wineries are winning medals around the world, that our fresh fruit is second to none, that we're 40 minutes from The Lake and an hour from the symphony and Broadway type plays and musicals, or that even Eddie VanHalen is going to be at the VanAndel this summer. Nope, we're telling them that the humidity is about 100% all the time, that we get 20 feet of snow every winter and that the mosquitos are so big they'll carry off small children. I don't want Michigan to get to crowded, you know. (grin) Annie

I can sure sympathize with you!! My DH used to snore so loudly that I'd have to go to the spare bedroom and even then I could still hear him. My constant sleepless nights took a toll on my health to the point I could barely function during the day. He tried several different products, but nothing worked. Finally our Ear Nose and throat doctor recommended a procedure which uses radio waves that reduce the tissue in the back of the throat. It was done in the office with a numbing agent. The only pain was a mild sore throat for a couple of days. It cured his snoring almost immediately and I'm happy to say that we live in a snore free zone now. I agree with Wildchild that your DH should consider a sleep apnea study to rule out anything serious.

mom24 -- I'm sorry if my trying to be funny upset you. I've merely commented because I don't believe any 25 things I could list would be especially brilliant. If I had made a list, I'd like some feedback. Does it help you to know that I've lived 46 years with a Bears and Cubs fan? (A little sympathy here? For both of us? For ALL of us?) No harm/no foul? A shorter list? 1. I'm an only child, married to an only child, with an only child, who (until February) has an only child. 2. Our only GS was born (two weeks early) the night DH and I were flying back to Chicago from Maui. Looks like #2 has the same agenda -- pregnancy and due date announced after we'd booked our tix. 3. We lived for 30 years in one northern suburb of Chicago until 2001, when we moved into a house we built in a suburb farther north. Defending against the building review board here caused me to lose 30 lbs. 4. We're happy that we persevered and built here. (And I'm happy at 117 lbs. -- better than the 138 I started at or the 108!) 5. I was *delighted* to be a petite 5' 2" as a HS freshman. Then I grew four more inches. LOL 6. DH and I grew up in two different Chicago suburbs. We had met as toddlers, but neither of us knew that until after our first date, after meeting in a Northwestern night school course on public relations. 7. Our DS is adopted. DH didn't know that *he* was adopted until he was 40. I co-led an adoption search and support group in Chicago for 15 years. Both DS and DH know who and where their birth families are, but do not have ongoing contact. 8. We are currently owned by our fourth Westie, Eliot, a puppy mill rescue dog. I don't DIS-like big dogs or cats, just never wanted one. 9. We've traveled abroad a bit; now only to visit friends or to our Maui condo in winter. I often spent summers in my mother's home state of RI after my parents divorced. I like the TripAdvisor Hawaii forums and the real-estate related forums on THS here. DH and I read a lot. Seldom buy a book, using our library for books and DVD's. We have 'teatime matinee' most afternoons watching movies, cozy mysteries or British TV series. (Currently watching "New Tricks" and "Doc Martin".) I'm also a 'cusp' baby, between Aries and Pisces. I cleverly managed that by being three weeks late. It's convenient to blame my faults on 'signs'. LOL I'm also probably a DES baby. Gah! See, I told you so. I can't think of anything more! Can't imagine who would want to know THIS, let alone MORE. Oh, my legal name isn't Sue, but it's what I've always been called. Sue ;-)

I wish I could help you, too! I remember those feelings in my 4th pregnancy. It was unexpected, we were moving from FL to TN, my other kids were 8, 5 and 2. Between pregnancies and nursing, I was starting to feel like a hormonal baby machine, no time to have my body to myself! DH was already in TN, so I was trying to keep a house ready to show and pack. All the while feeling miserable, including bad morning sickness. And getting big fast? LOL. I can tell you my first sign was NOT missing a period. Even before that, my pants would not button! ;o) Just popped right out there! Right from the start people asked if I was having twins. I was not much fun to live with at that time. I was the most tired I've ever been in my life, physically and emotionally. And the hormones just make it harder to cope.

Rest! Rest! Rest! Don't push yourself. Maybe a sling for the baby would put his weight on your shoulders instead of your lower back/belly.

If it helps to know that someone can relate... I feel your pain!!

What kind of maternity belt do you have? Mine has been a godsend. I just bought the only one they had in BRU but I noticed they made different ones. Maybe you need something stronger.

I have one like this.
This one looks like it might offer more support.

I've seen some that are just the lower belt and they don't seem as supportive.

Oh gosh, you have every right to complain and feel like "carp" LOL! Do whatever you can to get some feel-good time for yourself! And do not worry about the garden or the state of the house! It will all come together in time!

I haven't been lucky to have babies but reading your words I can feel your pain and tiredness. You sure do have a lot on your plate especially with a 9 month old to look after. A baby sling sounds like a good idea.

My niece is 5 months pregnant and she looks like she is due now. I was so surprised when I saw how big her baby belly had grown.

Try to get some bed rest while the kids are away.

stacie...don't lift your ds...keep an umbrella stroller around...it's far easier and prehaps the other kids won't mind pushing him...we lived in a small condo and that's what i had to do the last time..of course i later found out it was twins...
