I like black with black. I don't know the exact colors you are speaking of, but I'd go black and not gray. If the black has some gray shading it should be fine, as long as the impression is more black. My hubby and I always liked brick with black. You should probably make sure you get your attic air sealed and insulated. It's wise to do and with a black roof even more so. The Moire black looks better. You will have to decide which is the better shingle.

I have a very similar house and I was between the GAF timberline pewter and charcoal. I went with the charcoal because I feel as though black is too severe and yet the pewter is too light. My contractor said that the colors will lighten in the sun over time and showed me a brick house with the older charcoal shingles that looked beautiful. Also he said that the timberlines now have a lifetime warranty and are a great product. Good luck!

I just had a roofer out today and now have the timberline samples. Charcoal is what i would choose for brick with black. My house is beige so I have to decide also. Maybe I will post a pic sometime and ask too.

I am finding such variations in quotes. Today's contractor was a master certified, so I assume his will be highest and most detailed. I should get figures tomorrow. It is really hard to choose when they are all installing the same product at such varied prices. Has anybody gotten estimates from "master certified" and regular guys and were they much different?
