Pulls to make slab cabinets not so modern?

We are trying to pick out some pulls to make our newly ordered slab cabinets look not so modern.
I see alot of these euro bars on slab cabinets, but that straight, square style doesn't quite suit our space.
I like the cup pull/knob combo, but I'm not sure that it will work with the slab door (seems best for shaker style). I could be wrong though. Anybody have any other suggestions?

All my lowers are slab. I have an arch pull. I wanted my kitchen to have a modern farmhouse feel, and so tab pulls which I originally planned didn't work out.

I used a basic arch pull but maybe what Badgergal used would work for you - Badger - are you out there?
I almost switched to her pulls but she helped me stay the course with my arch pulls.
I don't like pulls with extensions either - I have too much energy and catch my pockets on anything protruding...

@MaWizz - your second picture was one of my inspiration photos. And although I wanted cabinets like in that second picture, I knew they would likely get trashed quickly with kids actively using the kitchen. My second choice was tab pulls but was talked out of it from a pure functionality standpoint. In a working kitchen with kids it is easier to pull handles (using one clean pinky finger of an otherwise drippy dirty hand). Finally, when I asked a local designer she said handles are like buttons on a shirt. She felt the kitchen needed that accent as it's not an ultra-modern kitchen - but rather more transitional. Hope that helps.

CEFreeman, if I go DIY I will try Rub 'n Buff - I've seen that on blogs. But I think I would finish either brass look with a clear protective coat. I love the Japanese towel bar ones sooo much. But I don't think I can justify spending that much. Chisue, I'm not sure which pulls you referred to above? Lauraeds - I saw those or similar pulls in an kitchen and they look FANTASTIC! Can't wait to see your reveal. They would not be an option for me because clothing catching would be an issue - we are a clumsy family, myself included. Terri_pacnw - yes, I am appreciating the shape and proportions of the IKEA Tyda pulls. They are just so simple and clean-looking. And as I mentioned, I am liking how they *feel* - easy and comfortable to grab. I am usually whirling around the kitchen to get scratch dinners on the table after a long day of chores and homeschooling so details like that can make a difference. Robotropolis, like that Richelieu pull and I will look for it. For some reason I thought I already found that one and discounted it based on price, but I could be wrong. I have found Richelieu products to be frustrating - I've had trouble finding an actual dealer for a specific item. Thanks for the help, folks :)

Thanks, Pepper. Yes, I'm blessed to be working with some talented craftsmen. My cabinet maker got them for me, so I'm not sure of the exact model, but here's a link to the one I think he used. It comes in various sizes. About the magnetic latches, I didn't think I could use more than one latch on each cabinet door. Don't you press on the spot where the latch is to open it? So if you had more than one latch would you have to press on all the places where there are latches? Or does just pressing anywhere on the door cause all the latches to unlatch at the same time? YoungDeb-I grew up in Dallas, over by WR lake. My family is still there and it's home. You're very lucky to live there and in such a gorgeous house! I really love your office. I am definitely going to try the tape trick on the cabs. Jakabedy- yours is another kitchen that I've spent much time studying the pictures of. It's so gorgeous, and I love how true it seems to the original feel of your house. I love your range niche, and your bs is gorgeous. Louisiana- join the club on over thinking! I definitely sweat every detail, which most people don't even think about. I think minimal crown is probably ok. It's when you get into the gigantic moldings that it starts to jar with the original style of the home. Laura- is the doors will be solid walnut, you will have to have battens-the ones my cab maker proposed are pictured above. Do a search for slab cabinets on this site-veneer is often the choice of even higher end lines. I am also using semi handmade walnut doors. Scherrs has walnut ones too-both solid and veneer IIRC. Writers block-thank you, yes, I saw that on IF. Their website is not easy to search and seems to crash my browser so I try to minimize how often I visit. But I saw that some had recommended a specific blade, which I will buy. Also going to try to find an as is door for practice. Joanie- thanks for the thoughts on the floor. I think you are right about the white being too high maintenance. I ordered a 12x24 grey tile, so hopefully it doesn't show too much dirt.

Yes a2, I am out here getting my nightly GW fix.
Battleship, the pulls I used are Hickory Hardware's Greenwich Collection. I used 10 inch pulls on my cabinet doors and longer ones on my drawers but the pulls comes in approx. 4 inch and 6 inch lengths too. Mine are the stainless finish but they also come in oil rubbed bronze, bright nickel and a finish called Windover Antique. I ordered mine from a local store but they are available online too (although not all sizes and finishes are available on all websites). It looks like the source below might have a good selection.
The oversize lengths I used on the drawers give a more contemporary look but I think the the 6 or 10 inch lengths would look great on slab doors and not be too modern. Below is a close up shot of mine. If you need to see more pictures just click on it to get to my album.

We haven't installed them yet, but for our slab cherry cabinets we ordered Aspire from Berenson in Brushed Nickel. There is a slight narrowing in the middle that gives it a really nice profile. They are available on Amazon and the sample we got first had a nice weight to it. I think it was Ginny20 that said Berenson was a good company; I hadn't heard of them.

Yep, it was I who suggested Berenson. My custom cabmaker carries a few hardware lines, and he suggested them. The finish is very nice. I think they're made in Buffalo. I love that Aspire that TexasPenny picked. They have a lot of pretty collections.
