I found my prom picture!

Here I am (the blonde) with my date, Alan, and my friend Carolyn and her date, Paul. Carolyn and I are still good friends. I have no idea what happened to Alan and Paul. :-)

Oh so young! When I first got married I was going through the box of pictures and there was my prom picture...DH had ripped it in half so that all that was remaining was the picture of me. My date disappeared. Why it mattered to him I do not know. It was just a date and he meant nothing to me. The only reason I went with him was because my brother made me. He was a friend of my brothers and I didn't want to hurt his feelings.

Thank you all for you comments about how gorgeous Shaylah is. She gets great grades in school and plans on going onto college. Leslie, funny you should mention Riverdance. She competes in Irish Stepdancing and is a beautiful dancer. Shannon says she has a heck of a time buying jeans because her legs are so muscular.

I remember my senior prom. No one invited me, so I and 2 girl friends went to Shakeys for pizza that night. The Shakeys closed down long ago and one of the friends (Camille) has passed on, so the memory for me is a sad one.

I was wondering the same thing, Maire. I think some of the girls wore them back then, so it's possible. I had some sort of "jeweled" clip in my hair. I assumed the picture was taken at my house, but I don't recognize the decor. So maybe it wasn't my dad who cut off the heads after all. :-)

I didn't go to prom either (never asked) so me and 2 girlfriends went bowling that night. Bowled my best ever that night!

Awwwwwww, youth. you and your friends all look so good in your finery, happy too. I don''t have scanning so I can't post a picture, but I have a class picture of our glee club and all of us gals seem to have the same big teased hair, a big flower over our left ear and dark lipstick. The pic is in black & white from the early 50's, and I'm sure we all thought we looked smart and sophisticate. I love these old photos.
