My Grandson and His Date (Prom)

This is my next to oldest grandson and his date for the Prom tonight! According to my daughter, this young lady is pretty awesome! They even ask Mom and Stepdad to go out to eat with them after the Prom!!

This is also another one of those times when I hatehatehate living so far from them!:( My daughter has done a fantastic job of raising her 5 children as a single parent with the help of God!

I have no idea,Glenda...my daghter didn't say! I was just kind of blown away that the kids ASKED them to go! lmbo

Hi all, I need to clarify, Carter & his corporation, Van Corp Media, produced a TV pilot about 2 years ago, starring Dustin, which is still being marketed. Carter is not involved in this movie, but Rick was involved with Carter in the TV pilot. I met Carter and the others from Van Corp Media, spent an entire weekend with them actually, and Carter is so nice. Everyone tells him he should be an actor or model & he says he loves working with his hands and what he's doing on HGTV. Our school had a junior-senior prom. It was a small school so I guess they needed two classes to fill the Elks Club ballroom. Don't remember my gown or date my junior year. I'd have to get out the yearbook--wherever it is. :0 My senior year I was dating a guy from the next town. I was very small and we had a terrible time finding a gown to fit. I don't know why my mother didn't make it. She always made our clothes. About a month before prom, mother and daddy went to Columbus, Ohio to visit my aunt and uncle and mother found the prettiest dress. It was a size 3 and she had to alter it. It was short, dusty rose organdy with spaghetti straps (nothing to hold up a topless gown). Across the bodice was a row if deep rose and dusty rose organdy flowers that could be removed (I kept them). I loved that dress! My date brought me a corsage of pink baby roses with babies breath that I pressed and kept for years. After the prom ended at midnight (a treat for all of us to be up that late back then), the Seniors had an all-night party. It was also at the Elks Club. We all changed into bermuda shorts, which were the new hot thing, and danced, played games and ate until about 5 when they served us breakfast. It was a lot of fun and emotional because we were graduating and sure we'd never see each other again. You know how emotional HS girls can be. A lot of kids in my class ended up back in R-ville. Nice little town to raise a family. It'll be 50 years next month since that prom night. Sure wish I was going to the reunion in June!

Leslie...I somehow missed this today.... What a cutie... Isn't Jaden the one you posted a picture of him in a pair of hands? If this is the same one...boy he sure has grown. I got some pictures of Marcus last week. But for some reason...something isn't working together anymore...When I put my camera card in and follow all the steps to get it to photobucket...it won't work..Can't remember for sure but I think photobucket won't upload it, says it's not jpg or whatever it needs to recognise it. Only way I can do it is to print the pic. and scan it...bummer...that's what I had to do before digital camera.

My daughter went to two proms the first she was in 8'th grade, a dear friend of ours who we met thru a local support group for ill children..anyway the young man was a senior and loved Amiee, she agreed to be his senior prom date. They lived 3 hours away, both schools were involved and made this happen..This young boy had a serious medical condition. ..Michael since than has passed away, but him and Amiee had a wonderful time while us parents sat in the sidelines...bittersweet.

Cute couple Bump. I love the color of her dress and also that his tie and boutonniere match. I think it is wonderful that they invited the parents to go to dinner with them. They sound like very mature young adults.

Ohhh, that color of her dress is my favorite, bar none. That's a darling picture of two very sweet-looking kids. That is awesome that they wanted his parents to eat with them after the dance!

How fast the seasons go!

They certainly are a handsome couple.

I know it is hard not to be nearby. I have that with some of my family, too.

Asking the parents to have dinner with them is a sign of respect and maturity.

You are a fantastic parent to your kids, and they are as well with their kids. They MUST be to have the kids want to spend time with them for dinner!
