Not to hijack Alisande's thread about the proms but how about posting your prom picture.

Here's mine, my Dad had taken a lot of slides back then. Well a couple of years ago while I was visiting him in Florida he tells me that he has a bunch of old slides in the attic over the garage. They had been stored up there for over 20 years. To my horror so many of them had to be thrown away because the humidity had ruined them.

I brought home those that I could see what was on them and Mike copied them to the computer and I was thrilled that my graduation and prom pictures were in there and survived. So this picture's color is a little off but I am so happy to have it.

I made my dress and top in Home Economics class and was quite proud of myself. My date was the brother of a friend of mine. He was my first real boyfriend and did ask me to mary him. I was too young and wanted to play the field for awhile. This was back in 1964.

Great looking couple!!

I'm having the same problem with my dad's slides. Most of his negatives are in excellent shape, but the slides look pretty dreadful. They're mounted behind glass, and the Florida humidity had its way with them. I'm hoping to salvage some.

My Golden Chain Tree (probably 4 years old) also hasn't blossomed this year. I bought it last spring from a nursery in Louisville in early May at a 50% discount due to a significant trunk injury the prior year; however it was in full bloom and made an excellent backdrop for prom pictures after planting one week later. We had a hot summer. I staked the tree (the injury seems to be healing), and pruned some dead branches just as it started to leaf out six weeks ago. However no prom picture backdrop this year as there are no blooms to be found. It was planted in good well-drained soil, wind shielded in partial shade.

Very cute! I'm surprised they even have prom there. None of my exchange students have prom in their country. In Spain they don't even have a Senior graduation ceremony.

Nita what a great picture....and Ms Glenda quite a handsome couple.. Have you noticed that teenagers back in the day were more mature looking than the kids today? Most noticeably the boys... IMHO of course..

We didn't have a camera when I was in school. I didn't have any pictures. I've been looking around the house to see where I've stuck my senion year book. There is a pic. in there although I don't like it. But if I find my book while this post is still around I'll scan the picture.
