Does anyone know anything about Upholstery Fabrics?
Comments (4)I didn't actual ask a question - did I!!? My question/concern was the fabric being in 100% Polyester vs. using a mixed fabric blend. I read on one site that 100% polyester was rarely used on furniture, so I was hoping to get feedback if polyester is okay. Thanks!...See MoreAnyone know anything about Sandalus or Purple Dunas granite?
Comments (18)Since other posters have already commented on the care/maintenance of these counters, I will comment on how, IMHO, they will look with the cabinet and flooring samples you show. The Purple Dunas does not look good in that combination. The Sandalus looks too much the same, there is no contrast, and the combination will be too monochromatic. The Typhoon Bordeaux has a nice contrast, as well as an interesting pattern. Since we can't see the rest of your kitchen, it is hard to tell if Typhoon Bordeaux would look good, but it looks like it would be very pretty, and by far the best of the 3 from what you've shown. I believe that Typhoon Bordeaux is one of the denser granites, needing sealant just once a year. Here is a link which shows a number of photos of this granite in different kitchens. http://www.minimalisti.com/kitchen/modern-kitchen/04/typhoon-bordeaux-granite-countertops-ideas.html P.S. Your fabricator who said to clean your granite counters with vinegar is wrong. I would never do that to my counters. You got lucky with your previous counters, but don't do that with your new counters, OK?...See MoreAnyone know anything about Samsung laundry machine?
Comments (1)The liquid level in the bleach or softener cups *must* be kept at or below the indicated "Full" or "Max" level. It's fairly common that there's some residual water remaining in them after a cycle is run. Is that the case regards to your problem? Residual water *MUST* be dumped out before the next use of those products, otherwise adding them will raise the liquid level high enough that it will immediately run out. It's not necessary to dump the residual water if bleach or softener is not used on a successive load....See MoreAnyone know anything about old sewing machines?
Comments (16)It looks like it is supposed to fit into a special cabinet rather than to sit on a table. Not having a free arm reduces its value, and it might be difficult to maintain. I have a manual Viking Husqvarna from about 1992 and a Brother CS6000i that is computerized (which I did not want) that I bought this year so that I would have a sewing machine at both houses. I already had two sergers, although I was considering getting rid of my older one, and I'm glad now that I didn't. There is a lot to be said for the new machines, and I think they have been doing a lot of improvements on the computerized ones over the ones that were available in the 1990s. My older manual machine (which cost almost five times as much as the newer one) is much better at sewing multiple layers of thick fabric. I'm glad I have two machines. The new one is supposed to be good for quilting, but I have not gotten into that yet and probably will not in the near future. I haven't ruled it out, however, although any quilts I make would not resemble anything I've seen so far. If you do not intend to sew on the machine you have, then donating it is probably the best idea....See Moresocks
