Does anyone know anything about Upholstery Fabrics?

I have been furniture shopping this week - wish I did this BEFORE I analogized for weeks picking paint colors, as they probably will be ALL WRONG once I am done picking furniture!

Anyway.. I found a few fabrics I really like, one fabric that I am seriously considering for the sofa and loveseat is made of 100% Polyester. All the other fabrics I have (about 30 samples!!) are blends of cotton, poly, and other stuff. It looks nice, feels nice, but does have a slight shine to it in certain lights.

Hopefully, someone can answer this question, as the furniture guy - just wanted to make a sale!

I didn't actual ask a question - did I!!?

My question/concern was the fabric being in 100% Polyester vs. using a mixed fabric blend. I read on one site that 100% polyester was rarely used on furniture, so I was hoping to get feedback if polyester is okay.

I have a $20 1x1 brand, which looks like the Leaf and RCA - just a notebook sized piece of flexible vinyl. It does have to sit in the window to get all of the local stations (because of the room site and where I want the TV in the room. Absolutely easy to connect and then have the TV scan for channels. MarilynC, you might like to have a Roku. No continuing fees beyond the initial purchase (anywhere from $25 and up, depending on the model - I have the cheapest and it meets all my needs.) Roku offers lots of free streaming channels, including news channels that would include Houston. Of course, they also offer other channels for a subscription price, which mostly run $5-6/month. Right now I am paying for Curiosity Stream and Acorn; for July & August I paid for Peacock Premium so that I could watch the Tour de France, The Tour of Spain, and some of the Olympics.

I have been looking at fabrics for window treatments and eventually to recover a chair. I was told not to use 100% poly on a chair because it can pill. It's fine for windows. That's probably not what you wanted to hear, but that's what I was told.

Thanks polkdots, I decided against today before I even read your post! (but thanks for posting it, as it concreted my decision) It seemed to be catching lint and showing and sticking anything that it contacted.

Off to look again!
