have you checked out HGTV's Rate my space. I was looking on there last night and saw some very beautiful kids rooms/nursery's. One room (for boys, but it could be unisex!) RED bedding, with accents of blue, cream, brown, etc. The bedding was PB with ivory looking stars on it. Didn't scream boy to me. Very cute! Green walls. :o) Saw another boy nursery on there that had caramel apple colored walls. Crib was cream with glaze. Bedding was pale blue toile. So very cute. I've seen that exact toile fabric in pink as well. So you could paint the room the caramel brown, do her bed in the pink fabric, and his in the blue. Wow, would that be cute. Then do their accessory pillows, etc. in creams, ivorys, chocolate. It's much cuter IRL than it sounds. LOL! If you like shabby chic, you could always just do various shades of vanilla in the room. If your children won't be playing in their room (ie: markers and messes) than creams/ivory's/whites would be sooo pretty. :o) Can't wait to see what you do. Congrat's on expecting!!

Alright- (as of *now*) I am between 2 fabrics- Sugar Baby Splash- linked above And this paisley fabric from polkatots- see link below. Problem is, I cannot find that paisley fabric. Can anyone help?? AND- if I went w/ this fabric, what color walls? I was leaning towards a light teal but I think that might be too much blue. Frmrsdghtr, If you like the madras plaid, and are flexible on color, I might have two to give you. They are blue tones though. I don't need them anymore because in our new house the only twin beds we have are now in my youngest daughter's room. These were from a spare guest room. I have two twins in great condition. I don't know if Nautica sells them anymore, but when I did a google image search on Nautica madras bedding, i found someone selling them! At least this gives you some idea what it looks like. A child now in a crib will be needing a calming vibe -- it is in your best interest for the child's bedroom to have a calming vibe.. Is that floral fabric bedding and/or window treatment? That's likely more appealing to an adult than a small child -- has a "busy", crowded "where's Waldo" vibe to it. Seriously consider neutral colors for the wall and a not very busy pattern (with limited colors) for any rug. A child that is crawling or walking around barefoot would likely want a soft feel more than a complex pattern. Bedding and curtains can be relatively easily replaced as a child ages but you don't want to be redoing the walls or flooring or rug each year as the child's interests and tastes change. For bedding/window treatments and rug, you might choose a half dozen patterns you would accept and then see which one the child, without nudging, gravitates toward -- if, of course, the child is old enough to reach for one or the other.
