I mean, DD couldn't have worn this girls pants when she was 3, let alone now. DD has my ogre genes and DH's skin tone (I call her the bronze amazon ROFL). This other kid is a pygmy. What would be the point of keeping them? Thanks, just spit tea all over my moniter. LOL

Tell her to wait until her kid is a little older and is spending a couple nights a week at her friend's houses and has managed to lose an entire season's wardrobe. Even at 19, my DD is still leaving, losing or lending out her clothes and jewelry. You get used to it.

I'm sure it's annoying to say the least, but I have to tell you, you sure can make me laugh! Your posts are great!

I've been known to look for my glasses ... when I've had them stuck up on top of my head.

Hard to find them on tables, chairs, counters, TV, beds, lavatories, etc. in such a situation.

Hey, Summer was just sure that she left one of her Croc flip-flops here at my house, but I searched high and low, even checked under the mattress, no flip-flop. Finally she believed me- I wanted to find it, and I'm a great finder, but it simply was not here! No telling where it is, but I know it's not here.

Now, Dances.... what are you going to do if you go off on the mom and then find the dang pants a week later in your hamper? I say- burn 'em! lol

I'll bet the missing flip-flop is one of those shoes you see along the side of the road. How the heck do those get there anyhow? People with their feet hanging out the window, mad children tossing them out along the freeway (that'll teach Mom!), people taking a walk and lose one but don't realize it?? One of life's mysteries I guess.

Something similar happened to me once, except the mom wasn't annoying. Her son had slept over in the winter and took off the thin slush pants he had on over his jeans, when they played outside. He went home without them and we searched everywhere, with no luck.

Three weeks later I finally found them under one of our sofa cushions. Slush pants (for those of you in southern climates) are really thin pull on pants you wear over jeans to block the wind from freezing your legs. So they weren't bulky enough to make the sofa cushion sit oddly. Now you know I only vacuum under my sofa cushions every 3 weeks or so, lol!

LOL Picky, it's be centuries before I ever found those things!! Question, how the heck did they get there?

How do the lone shoes get on the highway? I know I know I know!!!!!

My mom always kicks off her shoes on long trips (we used to do it too, and toss them into the door well of the van to get them out of the way and avoid tripping on them).

One time while my mom was asleep in back and my brother was "navigator" (we used to drive right through to Florida from here) they made a quick bathroom stop by the side of the road. (Boys. They think the world is their bathroom. Ugh!). Anyway, my brother must have knocked one of my mom's shoes out the door.

We get to Georgia and decide to stop for breakfast, and mom only has one shoe. BOY was she mad.

Another time, we left so early that my parents literally lifted us sleeping from our beds and plopped us on sleeping bags in the back of the station wagon with all the seats down. We made it quite far before they realized none of us had shoes ROFL! I managed to do the same years later when I was a teenager and had been loading the car barefoot, then hopped in and didn't think about my feet.

Hey...maybe those pants I found in my yard....after a KT bicycler tented out there were hers....LOL...

patti, I guess the boy just pulled them off when they were in my rec room (since he had jeans on underneath) and threw them on the sofa. They are kind of a slippery fabric and must have just slid under the cushion!

Did other girls spend the night?? Maybe you can direct her to other moms:)

I agree with Flamey. If those pants show up I'd just, uh, lose them again! LOL If she asks again tell her emphatically, "No, they're not at my house!"

Had a similar thing happen several years ago when my DS was younger. His friend spent the night and a few days later his mom called and asked, "Did you happen to find a pair of Alan's underwear at your house after he left?" I DID find them (mainly because of the difference in sizes of the two boys) but I just kept thinkin', "What kind of anal organizer knows if there's a pair of UNDERWEAR missing!?" LOL

I figured when DS ran out of underwear I'd just tell him to check in the toybox or under his bed, or somethin'! LOL
Yuck, I know, but boys...........LOL It didn't kill him - he'll be 40 in Sept. and now his WIFE keeps up with "that stuff"! LOL

Years ago, DD left a jeans jacket at a friend's house on Halloween. When she realized that it was missing, she asked the friend. When the friend couldn't find it, I impolitely asked the Mom if they had found it. No jacket could be found anywhere.

About a year later, the jacket was located at the friend's house in a closet. They were cleaning out the closet preparing to move. The jacket was returned. Unfortunately, DD had outgrown it. If they had only checked the closet more carefully, we wouldn't have had to buy a new jacket.

I know both my kids' friends leave stuff at our house all the time. Lauren does the same thing, she wore my flip flops to one of her friends' homes a week or so ago. They're very comfortable, worn to MY foot, she better bring them back!!! I did buy a new pair just in case I never see those again.

Caroline, if Cedric were involved the entire child IN the pants would be at the bottom of the aquarium - bwa ha ha haaaa!

She was wearing a jean skirt when she got here, and the next day she changed from her pj's into an outfit DD gave her that she grew out of. I know how kids work and they unpack an entire bag to get out one thing, but I am not kidding that we checked the entire house. Our place is the size of a postage stamp. If they were here I would have tripped on them by now! I even checked behind the washer and dryer.

The next time she asks about them I am considered telling her "Yes. We did find them. And we wanted to make sure you never saw them again so we sold them on ebay. Now shut up before you end up sleeping with the fish". Either that, or explain how the aliens took them in trade rather than subjecting us to anal probes. I mean, you wouldn't want us to be PROBED, would you? Tee hee!
