I also think a silver sage type color would work well, but if you wanted to stay more tonal you could do a color like Carrington Beige that works with just about everything.

The wardrobe (freestanding closet) is a white formica Ikea piece as are the dressers/counter system and bookcases.

Not sure what a sisal seagrass carpeting is. Should mention the carpet in the hallway, leading to the room is a rich medium beige so maybe a twist carpet in tones of beige?

A moss green would look nice. Tiffany blue. Deep sapphire. I know this sounds crazy, but think about moths - brown and golden, not too yellow, with touches of a third color in accents. I have a framed collection of moths and butterflies on silk that came out of Japanese cigarettes. Like coupons, but not. :D They are hanging above my computer, so it was the first thing I thought of when I read your post and your not wanting the "trendy" color schemes.

I'd do a nice, multi-toned frieze with thick padding underneath. For a dressing room, you'll be bare or in stocking feet I presume.

With a multi-tone, it's easy to pick a paint color after it's installed and it doesn't show vacuum lines.

Fun idea! I just did a friend's LR in this color scheme, working around her chocolate sofa and white walls. Her room looks very soothing, sophisticated, and elegant, which seems like a great feeling for a dressing room.

A beautiful wall color to work with both chocolate chair and white woodwork, etc would be a smoky, taupey lavender like BM lavender Lipstick or BM Beach Plum (this is the color family, but of course, you will need to check these colors in your room with the light, etc). This is a cool look that evokes an updated version of the beautiful rooms in old Hollywood movies (updated Regency look).

The floor could be a FLOR solid taupe like FLOR toy poodle Loco Cocoa or Coco Chocolate, depending on the depth of the chocolate chair. Or, FLOR solid Ground Bittersweet for total comfort and luxury if the chocolate color works with your chair. For a more modern look, you could do FLOR blocks with lavender, chocolate, taupe.

I am not sure if your chocolate chair is covered or not, but if you are reupholstering it, a deeper lavender in a Dupioni silk or velvet (cotton or silk velvet) would be yummy with the chocolate.

Accents of charcoal/black will work with this as well. For your artwork, black or silver frames would be great against the lavender wall.

Crystal lamps on the dressing table with black silk or taupe/gray silk shades would complete this sophisticated, timeless look.

Thank you! The FLOR is a great concept but a bit pricey and the BM lavender colors nice but I think trendy.
I do like the Frieze carpet idea and need a coffee with cream type color for the white furniture and dark chocolate upholstered chair and half.

P.S. The butterfly color concept really interesting too and love you prints!
