Our remodel update - some advice still needed

Hi all,

I think the last I emailed we had just received news of our bid which came out at $195,000 or so. We have decided not to do the MBR and just have kitchen and entryway completed as this way we can get most of everything we want without compromising too much.

On that note, I don't know if you all recall but we're going with white, inset cabinets; two perimeter countertops; a long island and hardwood floors. The island will be granite, the name, verde fantastico. I was set on going with a black cambrian antique on the perimeter countertops but I recently saw a thread showing a white misty carerra silestone and I really liked the look.

So, the question I'm posing is: should I replace black granite or silestone countertops with a white granite or silestone product? The look will be completely different I understand. I'm just taking a non-offical poll.

We live in the pacific northwest and light is always an issue.

Thanks.
