When we bought our home in a new community, 3 years ago. price were going up, Our place had a base price of 315, and the last ones sold had a base price of 385. Options such as bay windows, wood floors and granite and stainless steel kitchens could add 80k to the price. A year ago, someone was trying to flip a loaded unit for 500, but ended up letting it go for 450.

Now homes which started at 430, and 420, 6 months ago have reduced to 415, and 410, and still haven't sold.

By 2011, there should be 15,000 new workers at Fort Meade, and another couple of thousand at NSA. The average # of homes for sale in Odenton has been under 300 for the last year. I think home prices are going to have to go up, but when?

DH would like to move to our vacation home next year.

I would like to wait longer and get a potentially higher price.

If he wins out over me, do you think we should drop our price to 410 and sell now, or wait til next April, hoping prices will go up and not down further by then?
