My Happy Doggie Girl! (Pic)

This is Abby (aka Abigail Blue) at the park last week...she's sooo happy when she can run wide open...It's hard to get a good picture of her otherwise...but she managed to stop long enough for me to capture her!

After almost 3 years...she's finally starting to calm down some...

liz i ALWAYS check ut your doggie pics they are always soooo beautiful! wish i could have long haired babies but i don't dare i know they'd never look this good lol.

my furbaby sandy is an airedale terrier (terror) mix who is 9 yrs old and it only just starting to slow a bit :-/ this after blowing out a knee in dec from running in the backyard which she spent 6 weeks on complete rest and recovered w/o surgery. then as soon as she was recovered slipped 3+ disks in her back celebrating her new moving ability lol... ~ liz

Great doggie pics, and related comment. Although I have mentioned Lady's brother Prince some, I have really not shown a picture of him that I remember. It is kinda hard to get them together and still long enough to get a shot of them, without posing them. I caught them while ago while taking some pics. of my composting area and operations. Now is the building time with all them shredded leaves and the greens from the supermarket dumpster. I combined them, along with some active pile and it is really cooking. This morning with an ambient temp of 30*, it did not take but a few seconds for the thermometer with the probe on it to climb to about 170*. That will peak in a day or so and hang in aound 150, then 120 etc. As I continue to add in a combination of shredded leaves and greens it will heat up again etc. etc. untill I quit building and let it sit. Wait awhile and tear it all up with the tiller and repile it, then it will heat up some again untill it is just fine, finished compost to help grow some more good maters. Bill P.

Thanks, everyone! The 1/2 was DH's idea so he gets the credit. I am in the Dallas area and this fall is really nice. Mommytoty, we had the same concerns. Google Solo Pet Doors. A little magnet goes on your pet's collars so it only opens for your pet. You can adjust the sensitivity, both how close your pet has to get to the door and how long it stays open. Also, it is a pulley system. Some others are motorized and can come down on your pet and do harm. If this comes down it's just the weight of the plexiglass door, so not much. We had one in our old home for 4 yrs without any problems. I highly recommend it. The only downside is that they are pricey. In our last home I had it in the wall in the closet in the bonus room. An untraditional place, but it was nice that it was out of the way and I could close the closet door and totally have it hidden. We downsized so no bonus room in the new house. If you decide to get one think about all the different places it would work for your lifestyle.

Lovely photos of them both Sharon, and yes it's true that when girls are that age they look good with no makeup and even in pjs. But I know how maddening it is to be caught in candid shots as my dad always took photos of us kids when sleeping or otherwise not looking our best which didn't bother me until I was in my teens lol. And yes Sara has really grown up a lot since the last photos. I sure hope that she will slowly regain the use of her right arm. She has done marvellously well so far with her rehab. LOL, Jannie. When my youngest of four and only DS first rode the bus to school, he noticed that his oldest sister, age 17, had a crush on a boy on the bus. And he chanted that phrase with the exception of the spelling of kissing, which he insisted on starting the spelling with a "P"! He knew the difference, but wouldn't stop even after DD asked me to make MY son behave on the bus. She was so embarrassed. Steph, those are very darling pictures! Puts me in the Xmas mood.

She is beautiful!!! I grew up with collies and love them. Ours were always outside pets and they could really get some burrs in their hair. We were always grooming them.

Thanks ya'll...Tanna...yes she's a snuggler...much more so then the boys...I think they get too hot...

Mush...she's a Blue Merle...normally they have baby blue eyes...she doesn't...our first Merle did..

Awww Liz...I'm sorry to hear about your Sandy...I hope she can recover from those disks...that has to be sooo painful!
