I took it to a gal who does panto,asI couldnt fit one this big under my machine...

Daughter-in-law, Nadine, is at 28 weeks. She is having contractions and they haven't been able to stop them. She will have to have complete bedrest until she delivers. They are giving her steroids for the babies lungs. The doctor said today that for every day she can keep from delivering it means 3 less days in the nic unit when they are born. We are all jumping in to help. They have a 4 1/2 year old. We will all keep her at night and get her to school. We want to keep things as normal as we can for her. I will do alot of the cooking if she gets to go home. Her hubby, our son Scott, is wonderful to help in every way. I am free every day from noon on. We live about 35 minutes from them.. I will go every day if I need to. Sadly her Mom died unexpectly 2 months after the 4 1/2 year old was born. This is really hard for me because we lost a son this same way. I delivered 8 weeks early and he died. I know they can do wonderful things now to save babies. This brings back so many memories for us.. I have a strong faith and it will get me through all of this. I will be there for the kids all they need me to be.. We are a very close loving family.. Please continue praying for us . And thank all of you for your kind words and prayers. They mean so much. That is awesome!! I hope she gets the "bug", too :-) My dd will be 9 in a few weeks, so she hasn't shown much interest, but likes seeing what I'm doing. The crayon quilt gave me an idea a few weeks ago. I ordered a book (looks like a coloring book) or bunnies and bears (she loves bunnies!) and I'm going to get her to color the bunnies on the fabric and we'll make a quilt out of it. Right now I'm making some copies from the book and she's practicing the colors to see what she likes. She is very creative, so I'm hoping this will spark some sewing in her??? Geraldine, my ds is 10 and he also like my WIPs and comments on them. He's a big computer gamer, and discovered Skype the other day. It's hard to get him away from the computer now that he can talk with his friends and play games at the same time. I'm happier because he's not tying up the phone any more :-) Robbi

HI Brittnee! A daughter is much different than a girlfriend. Always remember that. If you've been dating your boyfriend for a long time and know his parents well, and they knew it was your birthday, ....and she does buy birthday gifts, it was kind of rude. But she may be the type who doesn't buy gifts for boy/girlfriends, only sons and daughters in law. This is something you need to discuss with your boyfriend and see if there's a problem you're unaware of or if this is the norm. As for me, only boys here....short term girlfriends gets a smallish gift. Long term girlfriends gets a nice gift, a DIL gets spoiled more than I do my boys! :)

Caroline, it is lovely. I love the 'little bit of puffiness' look. Did you use a poly batting? Although I use cotton batting in quilts for others, I've always like the look of poly batts and use it in quilts that I keep for myself. TFS.

OOOHHHH! My favorite - blue and white! I especially love the outside border paisley. And I don't believe I've ever seen that block design before, and it is a simple one, what is the name of that?

Very nice (would love to see a pic of the whole thing if possible). Even better when it's kitty-tested.

Am I the only one wanting to see what's on the back side?

(When I become Queen, I'm starting a movement that all quilt pix need to include at least one pic of the back, to see what's on the reverse side. I must have been a white glove lady in a prior life.)

I especially like the quilting design in the outer border, looks like ocean waves. Nicely done, she should be most pleased.

Rita, I thought it was the lattice pattern Caroline has done but on closer inspection it looks like she sashed the lattice blocks. An interesting variation she has come up with. @:)

Beautiful!! Love the blue and white combination, so clean and refreshing!! I was also thinking the quilting looked like waves, goes so well with the blue. It is nearly impossible to keep my kitties off a quilt, even while I'm still sewing it together!!
