Wow, much easier if you see them side by side. The only difference I see besides price would be grill 2 with the side burner. I have a side burner but rarely use it. I need it most on a low setting, but that is when it gets blown out easily by wind.... Scary. But you may use a side burner more.
Webers are very nice grills, we even love our baby weber camping grill!
Aside from the burner I would choose based on delivery fees, return policy, dealer reputation, the usual online vendor questions.

For me I would eliminate #2. We have a non Weber grill like that and have never used the side burner ever. My DH can grill but honestly he wouldn't know how to turn a burner on.

I got a deal on a E-320 about a year after they first came out,much cheaper than the going rate on E-310.

I never use the side burner.Well,I used it once to test if it would work.

If I were buying now I would get the new sear burner option.

The Weber is really well made,the heat is very even, and it is quite efficient at turning btus into practical heat. But the downside,say vs some of the more powerfull Broil Kings is maximum temperature. You eliminate that downside with sear station.

Number 1 by all means. We don't use the side burner but the sear burner is awesome. Went thru the same decision last summer......hubs is not a big fish eater, but will "sear" it every day of the week on the new Weber!

I think grill 1 is the same one DH picked out for his birthday last year. Front controls, 3 regular burners, sear burner and side burner. He uses both sear and side, though the side burner less often - that is more of a luxury than the sear burner, which he uses nearly every time he grills. He uses the side burner for stuff we could easily do inside, but in the Summer is nice to keep the heat and mess outdoors - boiling corn and fried okra were two regulars for the side burner last Summer. If you can go the extra expense, it is NEVER a bad idea to get more gadgets when it is a birthday present -- at least not for MY husband! :)

I believe we have the 320. We do use the side burner for blackening chicken and fish, which we prefer not to do inside (range hood can't handle all that smoke). It works beautifully for that with a cast iron pan.

We researched grills for a year before we bought, and basically thought Weber is the best in that price range (didn't think the high-end grills were that much better or would get that much more use to justify going up to that level, in the multiple thousands, even though we did splurge on high-end indoor appliances) Our previous grill was a Weber that lasted about 12 years before it finally rusted apart - but it still worked! We had it propped up for months before we gave it up.
Of course we use the grill often where we are only grilling the meat and the rest of the meal is indoors. We use the side burner pretty much every time we plan to eat outside for whatever the side dish is (beans, vegetable, rice, whatever) - prep inside and cook it outside. We also use the rotisserie pretty regularly for chicken and pork roasts.
We always have a spare full propane tank handy. The next door neighbor just changed it out last night while he was cooking his dinner, and you're going to think this is crazy, but we took down the fence and we share the giant grill and tiki hut with our neighbors. The arrangement works beautifully.

just to confuse you more LOL we have this grill and my husband loves it. you get all the ease of gas but the great charcoal taste .

We went to a local True Value where they sell Weber, and they had dozens of them set up in a row so you could compare them. Ours is the same size as those you've linked, but with stainless steel grates and bars instead of porcelain-enameled. They assembled it (free) and delivered it (small fee?) and removed our 15 year old (still running! but old and small) Weber grill. I didn't want a side burner, and didn't think I'd need a special "sear" burner -- it gets hot enough to sear without it, that burner just saves time in getting it hot. But I did want the SS grates, which are more expensive I believe. So pick and choose the options that you want.

We just got grill 3 (no side/sear burners) and I have to say - it's amazing. After some research and thought, my husband decided that he didn't need any side burners which was great a it saved that extra $. You can't go wrong with any of these 3! What a great surprise!

We researched and bought a new grill last spring. We have the sear burner on the side and in the back. We don't use the back one very often, but we use the side searer every time for steaks. It's awesome! Be careful with your Webers. They are not all made in the USA like they used to be, and the quality of stainless steel has gone done recently. When you pick out yoru stainless, take a magnet with you. If it doesn't stick, the stainless grade is cheap and will not last. I wanted American-made. We bought a Napoleon (Canada made, which is about 15 miles from our house!) and heavy duty stainless. Love it so much! And North American is better than Chinese IMHO :)

We have the Weber 330 that is about 3-4 years old with a side burner. I seldom use the side burner because it heats a little too hot IMO, even on the lowest setting. I thought I would be using it to keep basting sauces warm, sauteeing veggies, etc, but it still gets a little too hot for that. I would buy the grill without the side burner, but if I bought anything else it would be a rotisserie as I would definitely get 'into' more of that. Not sure the sear feature would be much use either as you can definitely get hot with a high setting on these grills.

The Weber Spirit grills are the only ones made in China; the rest are made in the USA. This was a big factor in our selection as well.

Also, we saved quite a bit buying online from Rainbow Appliances instead of Amazon. They had good customer reviews and free shipping at the time last fall. This was for a Weber Summit.
